102  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: The amazing possibilities of the 1970s curtain on: June 03, 2004 11:02:17 PM
Had a teacher in high school who everyone called Curtain Lady.
She wore this one pattern dress with a new fabric everyday.
Looked like curtains.
Now that I think of it, that wasn't very nice now was it. Sad
103  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: New to Sewing with Vintage Machine on: May 31, 2004 08:17:37 PM
Thanks for all the info, Jenna.
I followed the original manual that I found tucked away inside,
& got it threaded and everything!
That probably sounds pathetic to someone with experience,
but I usually learn from watching other people...........so I'm proud of myself.
I can't stop looking at it!
It has the original Singer machine/motor oils too.
It looks great!
& to think, my boyfriend didn't want to be seen "trash picking"!
104  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / New to Sewing with Vintage Machine on: May 31, 2004 04:37:18 PM
After forcing my boyfriend out of the car,
I got him to load (what I thought was) a small table into our van.
When we got home and he set the table down, out popped a sewing machine!
Turns out it is a Singer 99-13
in a Singer 49 Cabinet
I don't have money to buy a new machine and would like to learn.
Does anyone know if it's possible to teach myself to sew on this?
I plugged it in and it works, even the little light.
Or should I just save myself the hassle and save for a new machine. Huh
105  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Frosted glass -- How to make your own frosted glassware! on: May 11, 2004 11:03:43 PM
I don't think the law would be a problem
since every lowered Honda around here
has giant Honda symbols in their back window.....
But weakening the glass just might be a concern.

I'm interested in using this on my car windows.
I figure if I do it on the outside,
(since there is tint on the inside)
it might work.
Any thoughts, ay?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet........

They are using the cds to tile the ceiling
Scroll all the way down for pic.

We are moving in 2 weeks and I think we might do this to our "Smoking Room"
I'm not sure how to secure them to the ceiling though
