1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Lampwork beads! on: August 31, 2011 11:25:35 PM
Tre' cool! It doesn't matter as much which turquoise you use, the copper that gives it the color is what causes the reaction. I'm getting ready to order some silver and copper frit from Devardi just to play with the color reactions.

I've got TONS of I-have-no-idea-where-I-got-it glass - a local lady was getting out of soft glass, and I purchased a good portion of her collection. She was running through everything so fast, I was just kinda smiling and nodding. I got a stick of GORGEOUS opalescent bright blue that I really adore, and have no clue where to get more - grump.

Cool, I can see that you used ivory & got the color reaction around the turquoise, but I can't tell - did you use intense black or Hades as the base and it's melding with the ivory? Hard to tell if it's a fuzzy line or photo Wink
I really like the colored wire, too - very pretty, really makes the turquoise pop!

I'm definitely interested - it's getting towards fall & fiber time here on the farm . . . . .

Pretty! May I ask what the bronze/coppery looking glass is underneath the bright-colored dots? It's very nice.

Purdy! And what are the chances of not only another lampworker, but another SCAdian on the board? Wink

Have you checked out this document on Scribd?

I'm debating trying to work up a necklace for one of Calontir's A & S competitions . . . . . . . In my copious free time, of course Wink
6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Best/Cheapest way to drill small holes in glass bottles? on: January 16, 2011 07:39:15 PM
You can sometimes get used drill bits from a dentist - they're not sharp enough to use on teeth anymore, but will do a great job with a lot of small work . . . . .

1) Yes
2) I'm kinda going with everyone else on color & springtime type themes. Glass & Metal could be fun, too.
3) I fell off the face of the planet while trying to work on the addition to our house (in other words, wasn't checking Craftster/didn't know it was going on Wink )

Hi all,

Finally digging out from all the construction we're doing on the house - I love the idea of a larger house, I'm just not sure about the work involved Wink

I've received from Styupe (I absolutely ADORE the cloisonne butterflies!!!), dustyfro (the dark green glass is so pretty!) and Michela (The teal pearls are one of my favorite colors!)

DH has hidden the camera somewhere, but I will get pictures later this evening or tomorrow.

I'm hoping to have mine going out by the weekend.
