1  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Rd. 10 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by stacysews on: December 07, 2014 08:24:56 AM
My stocking arrived from the talented kittykill this week and I've been waiting for several days for the sun to come out to take good photos and finally gave up today because I'm not sure that I'll ever see it again!

First off the FANTASTIC hand stitched items. I am in total awe of her mad skills:

Not only was there an adorable, personalized stocking, but 2 tea towels, a Wonder Woman (my craft room has slowly become a WW shrine, LOL) stitched in-the-hoop meme, and a gorgeous sugar skull in the hoop design with a cool lace background. Both of these will be hanging in my sewing area!

Adorable ornaments including an adorable washi tape birdhouse and a folded fabric star ornament (I've had this on my Pinterest for ages and have been in awe at how amazing it looks).

Fun stuff: Homemade bath bombs that smell delicious, an accent warmer (I've never owned one before so I'm anxious to give it a try), a very cool tumbler with a snow globe inside, cute socks, pens\pencils\erasers, and a Halloween pumpkin that TOTALLY matches my mantel (http://stacysews.com/entry/2012/0924_mixed-media-banner-tutorial/)

Lastly, my favorite of the bunch - a totally amazing ornament wreath!

Thank you kittykill for such a fabulous package!

2  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 9 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by stacysews on: December 10, 2013 12:29:42 PM
I received my package from Momof2! a few days ago - it took me so long to get photos up because at the same time my mom found out that she has.... shingles! I swear someone always has something around the holidays!  Anyway, here is my loot:

A fun, zombie stocking for my son! He has one that he received when he was a baby, but it's definitely babyish so it was time for a new one. He loves it!

For the stuffers there was an AWESOME Harry Potter wand pen! I wish I could have captured how fantastic it is... even my daughter fell in love with it and she's not even a HP fan! There was also an adorable HP mug for my morning coffee that I can use with my button\sewing themed tile coasters. There was also some wonderful blueberry jam, large magnets (perfect for my idea board that I keep in my room), chapsticks (which the children have also divided up amongst themselves), a soy candle, holiday socks, a tissue holder (also taken by my oldest to school), a skully pendent, and binder clips!

Thanks so much for a fun package!

3  Re: Spell My Name (Initials Edition) GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by stacysews on: July 26, 2013 02:16:29 PM
Before I show everyone my fabulous package that I got from  LadybugsAndBumblebees, here's what I sent her:

Skittles candle, notebook, crochet themed 'bauble'\pendant, mustache keyrings, and pillowcases (I am in love with this fabric).

Now for mine! It was jam packed with all sorts of name themed goodies:

A totally awesome skull garland! I currently have it hanging on my theme board in my sewing room
An skull themed notepad as well as a super small one (great for keeping sewing notes)
A small scarf bookmark (it is currently keeping my Blythe warm until I have a paperback book to read)
A summertime flip-flop purse (my son has declared this the best item in the whole package which means he secretly wants to keep it for himself)
A skull sock coin purse (from my Wists) - I have wanted one for AGES and am absolutely giddy to have one!
And lastly, a Sugar skull purse with a removable pin (because she must know about my love of bags - I'm constantly changing them)!

Thank you so much for my awesome package - I love it all (and so do my kids, I'm fighting to keep my goodies, LOL).

4  Re: Winter Scarf Swap 2013!!! SO Feb 1/13 in The Swap Gallery by stacysews on: February 12, 2013 11:36:06 AM
My package from Sweety arrived last week! Inside was a pretty crochet scarf with a matching hat and a wonderful smelling oil (or an oil warmer). I'm terribly behind on posting pictures and since I didn't have anyone to take my action shot, I had to rely on my (creepy as my daughter describes it) mannequin head to pose for me:

Now, if it would just get cold here again so I can wear it all!

My package arrived from quaggy yesterday as well - and my entire family LOVED it - we were all blown away at how fabulous it all was! Even the kids had a blast unwrapping everything with me:

(Quaggy included lots of our favorite candy\snacks. My daughter was thrilled when she unwrapped the Sour Patch kids and promptly claimed them as hers. My son snagged the wassabi peas and hot chocolate and we all split the chocolate, peppermint pillows, and mints)

Here is a shot of everything after it was unwrapped. My stocking was filled with so many goodies it's hard to see them all in the photo, but you find the assortment of treats, TONS of sewing goodies (Velcro in all colors, a BIG box of thread, a box of buttons, a seam ripper, an adorable elephant tape measure, and Christmas fat quarter), an ADORABLE strawberry shortcake pincushion (it's almost too cute to use), a flower power coaster set, an owl bag, lipgloss, a pretty pen, a set of Gingher scissors (swoon, they are awesome) in a cady, and the best part - a FABULOUS snowman statue!

quaggy works with ceramics and didn't just paint this snowman, she cast it herself! I am blown away at how amazing this is - the photo doesn't do this piece justice... it's so beautiful in real life (the snow even shimmers):

Here is a closeup of the stocking (It's a "not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse" - with adorable mouse print fabric) and owl bag... both of which have mysteriously 'moved' into my daughter's room  Grin  and the strawberry shortcake pincushion and scissor caddy:

Quaggy thank you so much for the FABULOUS package and for being such a fantastic partner. We all had so much fun opening it - thanks for including everyone! Now I'm off to my sewing room to test out my new pincushion and scissors (and caddy) and then start decorating for Christmas - guess what will be the centerpiece this year?!!!

6  Lil' Elvis in Halloween Costumes by stacysews on: November 01, 2012 01:30:33 PM
I'll admit it, my son is a ham. So this year, I made him a costume that he could totally play it up.... a Little Elvis:

For this costume, I used Simplicity 2528 (out of print), confetti dot fabric, a handful of grommets, and hundreds of rhinestones. Here's a shot of the front and back details of the jumpsuit and cape:

All in all, a lot of work, but well worth it - my son totally enjoyed it!

My package from sarahelise arrived this afternoon.... and it is fabulous! Inside were not just items from my pins, but candy (which my kids have claimed) to go with each letter as well:

S = Skully hat (in a fabulous sparkly black and pink yarn) and skittles (she also added some embossed 'S' stickers, too)
T = Tattoo inspired pin (a tattoo heart with 'Crafty' embroidered on it) and a toblerone
A = Alice in Wonderland framed embroidery and Angry Birds Gummies (which my daughter says are the best)
C = Cameo Candle (filled with a wonderful smelling soy) and Caramello
Y = Yummy cupcake garland (not only were they perfectly made, but she added beads for sprinkles) and a York peppermint patty

And of course, what we all love, an action shot. I can't wait for it to get cold so I can wear this outside the house:

Thank you so much for such an awesome and thoughtful package - I love it!

I was gone on vacation last week and when I came home, my fantastic package from trisarose arrived! (You have to forgive my son who couldn't help but sneak into the picture too)

It's a fabulous geekery mix of the Big Bang Theory's evolution shirt and Star Wars!  It's totally awesome, fits great and is soooo soft and comfy. Thank you - it's PERFECT!

9  Re: Another Blythe and Pullip Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by stacysews on: July 29, 2012 06:58:32 PM
I was gone on vacation when my package from GatorWrangler arrived (and then my air conditioning died so I headed to my mom's until it was fixed) so I'm a bit late posting pictures, but it was well worth it.... just check out this fabulousness!

First off there is a Wonder Woman costume!!! I am totally in love with Wonder Woman and was so excited to see this in my package.... plus she looks fabulous in it!  GatorWrangler also made a robe and satin dress (pictured on the right of the package). PLUS she sent a MINI BLYTHE! I've always wanted one, but never bought one for myself so I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it! There were also two fun packs inside my box as well: one was an Avenger's Chibi set (which my son took over) and a Hello Kitty mini (with state trading cards that my daughter confiscated for herself).

Thank you so much for the AWESOME package!!!

10  Blythe Wedding Dress in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by stacysews on: July 09, 2012 06:14:26 AM
Ever since my latest Blythe swap started, I've been on a tiny clothing sewing binge! This weekend I decided she needed a wedding dress and here's what I came up with:

I even made a tiny garter (you can't see in this picture) for her to wear.
