1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Woven ribbon earring holder (tutorial for everyone asking in the pink swap) on: June 08, 2006 08:06:39 PM

I made this earring holder for my swap partner in the pink swap!

A couple people were asking for a tutorial so here it is!

This holder was so simple to make, I don't even think you guys will need step by step pictures. I can just tell you in a few steps how I made it.

1. Take a piece of cardboard and cut your ribbons so that they overlap on both sides (I went shortways but you can go either way)

2. Now for where to put the ribbons, I didn't measure or anything... I just eyeballed it. So basically tape your first ribbon maybe an inch from the edge of the cardboard. You want to tape it on the back so that the ribbon falls over the cardboard.

3. Now tape the other side to the bottom back.

4. Continue doing this with alternating colors right next to each other.

5. Now basically you just want to look and see where you want the weave to start. Tape a ribbon to one side of the back going longways.

6. Weave the ribbon through the vertical ribbons. (Over, under, over, under, etc.)

7. Tape the other side of the ribbon to the other side back of the cardboard.

8. Continue to do this until you're done!

I hope that's not too complicated! It's my first tutorial and I wasn't really sure how to explain!

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / In A Box swap on: June 06, 2006 09:25:26 AM
If you've seen those cute little "In A Box" boxes, you know what I'm talking about!

For example: Sleepover In A Box could have a sleeping mask, nail polish, movie rental coupon, popcorn, etc.

I was thinking we could use shoe boxes and decorate those. Then there would also be a 1 item minimum that you have to CRAFT in the box.

What do you think?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Jones Soda cap and pearl necklace (picture!) on: June 01, 2006 04:01:53 PM

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / How do you poke a hole through tin? on: May 31, 2006 03:16:17 PM
Hi all.

I'm making a necklace using a Jones Soda bottle cap. If you're not familiar with the caps, they are made of some flimsy metal which I think is tin. Anyone know the easiest way to poke a hole in tin?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Easiest head scarf ever (with pictures) on: May 15, 2006 12:41:34 PM
I wanted a head scarf last night but alas, couldn't go anywhere to get one. So what did I do? Grabbed the nearest lacey slip and ripped the lace off! It was that simple I think it turned out quite nicely! Comments appreciated!

6  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / [ACCEPTED] Use that sheet! (Idea for challenge) on: April 24, 2006 07:18:37 PM
I had an idea for a craft challenge!

The challenge would be to make something - ANYTHING - from a single twin size bed sheet. They can use a sheet they already have or get one from a thrift store but no new sheets. Just an idea! (and my first!)
