I did a swap with Atsuko... I sent her some fabric, and she sent me this yummy cherry pendant. I've worn it so much already, I love it!

Sarah (gatheredthreads) and I did a swap. She was much better than me at posting pics though... I've been swamped. However, I got such fantastic socks (my first knitted socks, yay!) and the most amazing painted fabric (the socks were wrapped in the fabric.)

I love it all so much. I walked around my parents house for a few days hugging my socks. They thought I was a total idiot, of course.

3  Re: Fill-a-Matchbox SUPPLY Swap R2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by reethi on: April 20, 2007 03:16:45 PM
I received the coolest matchboxes, this was great!

A matchbox from sk8grrl, all the way from Iceland! I love everything, but special favorites are the fabric flower (its my favorite), the buttons, the fun orange and red beads (my favorite colors right now...)

And the matchbox itself was a cute denim paper. I don't do much papercraft, but after seeing all the cute paper there is, maybe I should!

Mave sent me candy! (eaten within minutes, of course) and tea! and a cute card! and a matchbox, stuffed with all kinds of cuteness. I love the R's (of course) and the two little star buttons the most, but all the paper is super-cute too!

Dragonslair's matchbox is also a pincushion! Which is totally awesome. She sent me a piece of the same fabric too, and a piece of lace and yarn that is already in my fabric pile, and so not in picture. Also a ton of stars, and buttons and cool stuff. (my favorite is the moose button.)

Thanks much everyone, everything was fantastic, and I'm very spoiled.

4  Re: Worth Your While Apron Swap #2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by reethi on: April 17, 2007 08:50:27 AM
(Grin.) Didn't forget, but the weekend was pretty busy. I'll do it tonight, when I can get a friend to take the photo... Plus, I've got to make sure I look presentable.

In the meanwhile, here's a non-action shot. Its a really pretty apron, I love it. It makes me feel quite sexy, which is a fun feeling when cooking, isn't it? And notice the fantastic detailing - the rickrack on the ruffle, around the pocket, and the word Glamour carefully cut out to form the pocket. Such detail! I'm in awe!

I've also been away from home for the last 5 days, and won't get home till Thursday night, so I'm sure I have a lot of SSS packages at my house, I just haven't seen them!

Here's what I received last Saturday!

Such a pretty scarf from sewknitter! I love yellow, and this is the palest, softest yellow!

The most amazing stars from funthreads! All my friends want one, and they are in serious awe, as am I!

And incredibly cool magnets as well as a really cool bracelet from raina.storms. Again, I'm the complete envy of my friends, one of who has kids, and wanted to steal the You'll eat it and like it magnet so much!

6  A baby blanket, using stash fabric in Quilting: Completed Projects by reethi on: March 30, 2007 08:51:21 PM
I really like patchwork, but I really dislike the actual quilting process - I've a tiny sewing machine, it usually turns out wonky and lumpy and awful.

So this time, I decided to avoid all of that by just piecing the top and backing it with a cute flannel. (I feel really lazy, but hey. It worked and looked good.)

All the fabric was in the stash already, and the half-triangle squares were left over from an earlier project, so I felt very thrifty using them up.

I'm a little bummed cause I gave it to a friend for his new baby, but his wife was really lukewarm. She was like, oh, its reversible. Pah. Ah well. It was fun making it.

7  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap (round 7!) now to Jan 21 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by reethi on: January 16, 2007 02:57:20 PM
Yay - I just got approved! I've always wanted to do this swap!

I think I'm going to offer patchwork coasters (with some African fabric) and this little bird, made with the pattern at Puchi Collective. I don't have pictures of the coasters, but the bird is about 4.5 inches tall, and my prototype didn't quite stand upright (I'll try to fix that in the versions I make for the swap though)!

I received a fantastic swap package from veludo! (And I can't believe how quickly it got here from Portugal!)

She made me the most amazing scarf, which I'm so in love with, pretty earrings and a bracelet, a little coin purse, and a fun pin. Everything was so prettily wrapped too, in colorful paper and rick-rack. Didn't take a picture of the wrapped stuff though, was far too impatient.

Here's everything!

Thanks Carla! I love everything! Hope you get your package soon...

9  Re: PG. Wodehouse Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by reethi on: October 15, 2006 09:13:08 PM
I've been really bad - I couldn't find my camera upload cable, and so couldn't post pics until now. But McJulie-O sent me the world's most AMAZING swap package - and I have taken a zillion pics, because everything was so fantastic...

I'm seriously in awe...

Here's all the goodies: She sent me a really interesting article on the origin of the Empress of Blandings, a biography of Wodehouse, a fun disguise (you need a disguise to get into Blandings Castle...), a really cool bag (made from a book binding), and finally, my favorite, the incredible altered book - shaped like the Empress, and filled with pages and pages of quotes, notes, and all things Wodehouse.

All together:

Close-ups of fantastic bag:

About a zillion pictures of the book (its that fanatsic!!!!)

Close-ups of the fun notecards (back and front) Julie also sent me Empress of Blandings etched cards, but that was beyond the skill of my camera (or me) to photograph...

I'm so, so lucky.

Julie, I have pics of the bag and the pouch I sent, but no pics of the apron. Would you like me to post pics?

CrochetFairy sent me a really pretty bag that I love - and I finally found my camera cable, so I could upload the pictures I'd taken.

Without further ado, here's a picture of all the goods. She sent me a bag, a wallet, and two really fun flower pins - I got so spoilt!

All at once...

And a close-up of the bag, which has fantastic colors, and is perfect for me, because I've been looking for a handbag-sized bag...

Thanks!!!! I loved it all!!!!
