23  my stained glass hotties. in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by tiffie1023 on: August 21, 2007 05:28:23 PM
both of these are huge in the two foot tall area.  they were in the women in glass show here in louisville last year and i never got around to posting them.  they were crazy fun to make, but cutting all of those piano keys was a serious pain in the a.

25  weasley clock in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by tiffie1023 on: July 24, 2007 03:14:58 PM
I'm really proud of my weasley clock.  it only has seven hands, but i still think it's pretty impresive.  the best part is that it actually tells time! the small gold hands are the ones that are acurate.

close up of the hands.  in order to get so many hands on it, i just bought extra hand kits i liked at michaels for about three bucks a set.  the working hands are actually mounted to the moving timepiece, and all of the extras are sort of clamped on to the screw that holds everything together.

i'm really happy that everyone seems to enjoy this piece, the whole thing was really easy so i encourage everyone to try it.  the base is a piece of wood that i faux finished to look leathery and old, and all of the place words are gold leafed.

26  Re: birth control cases in What the heck can I do with THIS? by tiffie1023 on: July 03, 2006 01:02:41 PM
i finally thought of a good idea for those little cases......a needle case!!!  i glued a magnet to the bottom to store all of my needles, and then decorated the rest.  i think i'm going to make a few more, one for sewing, one for leather needles, one for beading needles...etc.

i love re using stuff.  basically i love cheap projects....

it seems to work really well, and now my needles are organized and portable!  let me know what you guys think.

27  old clogs turned folktastic! in Shoes: Completed Projects by tiffie1023 on: May 16, 2006 11:31:58 AM
i had some old clogs and decided to revamp them.  i cut off the backs so that now they're slip ons, painted some folk inspired stuff on them, and cut some holes around the paintings for interest and breathing room for my toesies.  also i relined the insoles with some leftover suede from a goodwill skirt.  comfy, comfy shoes, i didn't wear them before, but now they're my favorite. to the xacto blades! cut up your shoes! let the revolution begin!!!

29  the 25lb new tiffany lampshade in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by tiffie1023 on: March 26, 2006 07:08:37 AM
this is a lampshade i completed a while back, but i sort of wanted to show it off. it took forever even just foiling the glass nuggets i used to make it took a lot of girl talks and help from my friends.  the shade itself weighs about 25lbs, so it's crazy heavy and i had to order a special harp just to put it on the lamp.  i got the lamp itself from a thrift store and it was so cool that any normal shade just couldnt' do it justice.  it has at least 14lbs of solder holding it together.

thanks for letting me show it off!

and this is a mirror/ stained glass i made with my left over copper foiled marbles

30  Re: Help with closet/desk area... in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by tiffie1023 on: March 26, 2006 06:31:27 AM
i would use some L brackets and a section of pegboard available at any home depot.  you could secure the peg board to the shelf and the back wall with the L brackets, easy peasey, and then they sell crazy sorts of attachments so you could install some essentially hooks and shelving that is arrangeable and moveable along the pegboard.  they also sell baskets that you can use on the pegboard too.  i use a peg board in order to organize my purses, but i just have it attached to one of my walls with screws.  you could paint something fancy on it for decor, but the benefits of peg board other than it's light and easy to install like anywhere are that with all of the funny hooks and stuff they have available, you could unclutter your desk.
