51  Re: Shop the Swap Round 4 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by wwrich on: July 20, 2007 06:30:26 PM

Basics: I own a smoke-free home.  I had a cat for 18.5 years, but she died over a year ago.  I do, however, still occasionally find caches of cat fur from time to time...

Little Monster Purses - 3 Points

[click on a picture to see the REALLY HUGE version]

Description: Each little purse is hand made by me from a pattern of my own design.  The purse is about 7 inches from side to side. I made the original of this purse for my now 4 year old daughter.  Toward that end, each purse if fully lined, has a Velcro closure, and the strap is firmly sewn into place.  The lining fabrics vary, but most are flannel. The teeth and eyes are vinyl fabric.  They eyes are satin stitched into place, and the "glint" in each eye is embroidered on.  They come in a variety of colors.

Here is a picture of the inside of one:

Colors: (I have multiples of most colors, and can make more if your favorite is gone before you get the claim in...) Here is my current inventory....I will try to keep it fairly up to date.  (I do keep the copy on my laptop pretty accurate, I just have to remember to copy it to the server occasionally)

Dark Pink:
Light Pink:
Variegated Purple:
Variegated Yellow:
Light Yellow:

I also have materials for: light purple, dark brown, milk-chocolate (brown), a dark aqua-blue, orange, and a bizarre orangey-pinky color that defies my abilities to name it.  Most will take me a week (or longer) to get a purse finished.

Say, I have an orange cat with long fur that I need to brush almost daily----anyone want any "Seymour yarn"? Cheesy

This thread moves too fast for those of us who can't post things from work!!

My cat (RIP) was also a long haired (angora) orange kitty.  For a while I did keep a bag next to her brush.  I thought I should knit her a kitten!!   Unfortunately, my husband didn't appreciate the thought, and tossed the bag.

You can see little tufts of fur on the floor near her feet here....

53  Flock...herd....gaggle...group of Monster Purses in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by wwrich on: December 16, 2006 11:01:17 AM
Yesterday, I finally finished all of my monster purses!

There were actually 5 more of them, but a couple of friends liked them so much they wouldn't let me keep them around for the photo session.

54  Re: Homemade Kid's Activity Book (Image Heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by wwrich on: July 21, 2006 10:53:55 AM
I just wanted to let you know that this pattern includes the hippo, lion, kangaroo, giraffe, alligator, penguin, and turtle (all of which I have made and have posted pictures of here and/or on my blog links) as well as a bear for lacing and an elephant with roller skates.

Mine doesn't have a penguin -- mine's a pelican.

Here is a picture of my bear that Gishygoo mentioned.

I posted my version of the elephant in my other post (on page 2).  I think that all 10 pages from this pattern can now be seen here....

OK.  This place makes me feel so old (again!) Shocked

I have this pattern (It represents at least some of the pages -- there might be another one involved too), and have made 5 books with it over the last <mumble> years.  (The first one was for a nephew who will be a senior in high school next fall!)

For those that are wondering...The pattern is Vogue  1959 -- and

Here are a couple of pictures of the one that my daughter got (made about 9 years before she was born)....

56  Re: How's Your etsy Shop Doing? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by wwrich on: June 12, 2006 11:31:03 AM
By the way, anyone here make business card holders?

I do.  or

These and several more styles are displayed here: http://www.zarquon.org/~wwrich/Craftster/card_holders.html

This is a link to a prototype page for a website that I was designing to sell my craft stuff.  I last did work on it almost a year ago now (sigh!)  I registered the domain, designed the prototype, designed the database, put all of the content into the database, then got stalled.  I still need to make the domain name live, transfer the database to something that works on that server, and write the code to display the contents of the database.  I am stuck on a couple of those steps, as they are things I haven't done before.  Well, someday.

I have most of the designs pictured.  Yes, they are pretty expensive, but those Delica beads are pricey, and these take me almost a solid week of work to complete.

What do you think? <gulp>   ...am willing to take feedback on the website design, the cardholders, or the prices.....I think

57  Dress and Doggie Costume for 2 year old in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by wwrich on: April 13, 2006 01:10:56 PM
OK.  I want to show off a little here.

Her "princess dress". (Simplicity 5695)  I made for a trip last summer to the Renaissance Festival.  She loves it.  She was asking to wear that dress almost every morning for about a month.  I gave in last weekend.  She wore it grocery shopping!  She got a couple of extra free samples at Sam's club.

Then, her "Doggie Costume" from Halloween 2005.  She was dressed up just like the dog across the street!  She picked out the color for the ear ribbons.   This one is Simplicity 4440.
