21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: I shall call her.. Mini Me!!! on: July 04, 2006 05:37:11 PM
She's so cute!  I love the glasses. A friend of mine requested a Henry Rollins but I was a little intimidated by the pattern. Yours came out so great, I'll have to give it a shot.   How did you curl her hair?

I know this is coming late...  but without further ado:

My Mr. Golden Lion Tamarin Danglies!

Thanks for the feedback re: limb grafting.  I just winged it as well.
Instead of I-cording the tails I used a knitting knobby/knitting spool.
Awesome pattern!  These guys were my first four needle knitting project!

how did you guys attach mr dangly's appendages to his body?  is there some preffered way to graft them or do you just have to wing it?

oh wow!  everyone's collages look so grand!  i like to use permanent markers- the new silver one is opaque and looks grreeatt- to doodle around or embellish magazine cut-outs.  did you guys ever figure out a postcard swap?  or is it over Sad  ?

Did you use that same flower pattern for the felted hand bag?  A pattern would be divine!

27  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Am I the only person who likes this?? on: March 20, 2006 05:22:30 PM
Heyy!  That purse is really cute and I'd (try to) knit it in a heart beat.  On the other hand I never took personal offense to Bjork's dress either.  I find Nicky Epstein to be something of a Knitting God, she can knit no wrong.

Hi!  I really love all of the unique, creative, and crafty ideas on this site.  I just finished my first felting project, "Yorik"   from the Fall '05 issue of Knitty.  I was surprised how long it took to felt!  I used 100% Peruvian wool and I threw that sucker in the washing machine about half a kabillion times with no luck.  The best method I found so far is alternating felting by hand in very hot and very cold water.  I used rubber dishwashing gloves with those no-slip ridges on the palms, I think that helped speed up the felting process.  Another thing I learned:  white/ light colored yarn may not felt... at all!  if it has been bleached.  Hmm...  So that's why I settled on the white/gray mix which my favorite 'knitting store lady' insisted still had some pigment in it.  And it did!  I added a pink bow for cuteness factor; and the only reason the 'boy' skull's eyes look black is from shadow.
So, what do you think?
