I have a lot of respect for people that can sketch something and then the final product actually looks like their sketch. Beautifully done! I also love all his background info  Smiley

Wow daiconharuko, that's very beautiful!
Scarabs mostly hold the sun in their front legs in egyptian mythology right? What is your reason for giving it an apple to hold? (Or is that very personal?)

And ouch inkythebat...didn't that hurt, on your head?

I'm so envious of all the beautiful artwork here. It must be amazing to be able to carry something that beautiful and meaningful around on your skin. I really want to get a tattoo sometime soon too. I've got the design, but for now I just lack the courage...

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Pride T-shirt on: May 19, 2007 11:36:43 AM
With Birmingham (UK) Pride weekend coming up, I read through all the threads here on stencilling and textile paint, and decided to make my own pride t-shirt. So I went out and stacked up on paint and a hobby knife, then I cut up a sponge (as you do), and this is the result:

I'm quite pleased with it!
Normally it always takes about 5 attempts to get a new technique right, but due to all the advice and tutorials here, it only took one go! So thanks to everyone who has shared their tips and tricks!

Here's a picture of my stencilling gear:

And I wish I had a picture of my face, when I was cutting the stencil and the little inside bit of the loop of the R came out too LOL
It was sort of like this:

Stupidly I hadn't counted on that one. (Yes I am blonde.) But with the help of an extra pin, and some careful dabbing, I got the job done Smiley

They all look great!

I love the idea of putting normal button-down bit in a t-shirt! Very creative.
