1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Town Hat -- from crochet diagram on: August 20, 2007 10:22:02 AM
Inspiration found here (thanks Paperdaisies)

and yelley made one also here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=185795.0

I didn't follow the pattern exactly.  I have a big head and I thought it was going to be too small.  I added two extra rows of increases (i think?) and it turned out too large!!!  Silly me.  It was easily fixed with a chained string weaved in and out of the double crochet (thanks Tenille for the great idea!)

thumbnails are clickable.

The first pic is more true-to-color.  I used Red Heart Luster Sheen yarn in Ocean.  I am going to make this again in another color.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Know of a sale? Post here. on: August 09, 2007 07:15:03 PM
There is a post like this in the sewing thread.  So I thought I would start one here.

Hobby Lobby has a sale on Caron Simply Soft for $2.22, Lilly Sugar & Cream Yarn for $1.11, and 50% off knitting needles and hooks.

Weekly Sale August 6 to August 11, 2007:

And there is a 40% off printable coupon here:

I love Simply Soft, so it was big news for me.  <3

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Hook Holder with Flowers on: August 01, 2007 08:48:16 PM
I was inspired by a crochet-a-long here.

And the Cherry Blossom Apartment, here.

I didn't have pink yarn, only creme, so I came up with this.  The embroidery is with yarn.

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rectangle Granny Afghan in Brown & Blue-grey on: July 31, 2007 11:49:21 PM
Finished!     Grin

This was inspired by the Giant Rectangle Afghan CAL here.

This was done in Caron Simply Soft in Chocolate and Light Country Blue.  It is super soft and would fit a twin size bed.  The color in the pictures doesn't do the color justice.  Sad

Once you get used to making the three DC "petals" it is super easy to work up.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / T-shirt recon into Wrap Top (thanks rostichery) on: June 17, 2006 03:43:59 PM
I was inspired by rostitchery's reconned t-shirt into a wrap top.
So I decided to try it myself.

I think this exactly what I need more of in my wardrobe.
I have tanks that I feel too revealing in and this gives me just the right coverage.
Just what this curvy girl needs!

I started with a Men's 2X T-shirt in brown.

Finished Shirt--does anyone know how to make the armholes not so gape-y?*  Besides a breast reduction?   Wink

And the whole outfit

* Thanks again rostichery, I read your reply and did a little searching around and found this site that explains how to fix gap-yness in knits.  The picture is exactly where I need a bust dart.  http://www.uniquetechniques.com/files/gaping_necklines.pdf
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bleach Pen Stencil of TISM--Bunny One on: May 29, 2006 01:01:21 AM
TISM's song "Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than Me" is my new favorite song.

So, as any good Craftster will do, I made a t-shirt stencil of Bunny One.

The video is here. http://www.madman.com.au/tism/bunny/
Be forewarned, it is about sex--but the story is told by a cute little bunny.

My shirt:

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Tailor-made for the Daddy on: April 17, 2006 02:11:59 PM
I was at a loss for good ideas for my guy-friends who have had babies recently.  That is until this thread https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=3448.0

Inspiration hit and I made these.  I bought the onsies and made bloomers.  With the extra matching fabric, I embroidered a guitar and a wine bottle on the tops.  One daddy plays base guitar in a local band.  The other daddy is trying to import wine from the mommy's families winery.  It is a family business.  Not "wino baby".  LOL

Enjoy!  All images clickable.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Simp 7090 purple art nouveau print, bias skirt on: April 14, 2006 10:24:29 PM
This is Simplicity 7090 Misses' pull on, bias skirt I made in a purple art nouveau print.

I made view B which is a knee length skirt with lining.

I made it in a 18, which was a mistake.  I think a 20 would have fit me better, but with the bias cut, it is most forgiving of curvier gals.   Smiley
