71  storage belt in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gammerus on: June 03, 2006 04:45:05 PM
after fallowing a tutorial from this site I made myself a money belt. I am still new to the sewing machine so rather than butcher some new fabric I used some old fabric that was going to be thrown away. It came together rather nicely, I think. I will definitely use thicker fabric next time.

72  fathers day mug questions in Father's Day by gammerus on: June 02, 2006 07:47:29 AM
My dad is a very odd person. He enjoys grossing everyone in the family out by discussing worms while were eating spaghetti, talking about giant pet cockroaches, and all the great pranks he would pull if he were super rich (think zombies) But above all else he loves coffee. I want to try and create a decayed looking coffee mug. add some cracks, fake rust, and of course a polymer clay worm coming out of the cup.

But I am not sure how to do it. will polymer clay adhere to a coffee mug? will it be machine washable? and what kind of paint and finish should I use (I don't want it to be very glossy)
this is a quick drawing of what I want (the rust will be more subtle)

74  diaper cake basket (pic heavy) in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by gammerus on: May 05, 2006 03:58:25 PM
well I saw some posts on diaper cakes and have been dying to make one. After my cousin invited my mom and me to her baby shower I seized the opportunity to create one. only one problem, after making the cake I realized I had about 30 extra swaddlers and I couldn't just throw them away, or make another cake. so after a couple hours of browsing walmart for ideas I got a basket.
When I got home I layered the inside of the basket with some old pink and white streamers.
Then after rolling up about 20 of the diapers and tying them with ribbon I used them as kinda a foundation for the cake so the cake wouldn't sit so low in the basket. then I put the rest of the rolled up diapers around the cake and layed a little pink shirt on top of them. after adding some pink lining to the basket, a few flowers and a name tag I got this

I like natural looking fish decorations but I dont want to pay $30 for something someone picked up off the beach. so I made my own little rock caves for my fishies using many rocks and aquarium sealent (make sure it dries for 48hrs before adding it to your tank.)

76  yugioh card folder in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by gammerus on: April 21, 2006 06:24:12 PM
a couple christmas's ago I made my brother a folder for his ever expanding collection of yugioh cards. I painted the main character yugioh and his favorite character joey (think thats his name) and put a bunch of plastic card holders in it. I used normal paint, since then his name has faded abit. since I didn't want to draw on it and mess up the lines I printed out the characters pictures taped them to the folder and poked dots along the lines, lifting up occasionaly to connect the dots so I wouldn't confuse the lines.
