I received from my partner! Maltiriel did an AMAZING job on my sewing kit. I believe that I officially have more supplies than my mother now Wink She's jealous! Both my parent's were in amazement of the amount she sent, and the effort she put into it all.

Here's a group picture:

My sewing kit included:
  • sewing machine needles
  • marking pen
  • dressmarker's pencils
  • small scissors
  • bobbin holder
  • hand sewing needles
  • tiny seam ripper
  • small ruler for measuring hems and things
  • thimble
  • pins
  • pin cushion
  • big seam ripper
  • fray check
  • fabric scissors
  • measuring tape
  • sew-in interfacing
  • sewing books
  • practice pokemon fabric
  • directions, fabric, thread, and notions for a pillow, drawstring bag, and knitting needle case

Whew! What a list! Below is a picture of the beautiful fabrics she sent:

I ALSO got a huge instruction book that she wrote with tips, that walked me through the processes of each project and had pictures of her doing the stuff! VERY helpful looking!

My 3 small items were: Angel S2 Playing cards, supernatural bracelet, and some pretty pink yarn. The girl sure knows the way to my heart Wink

Thanks SO much again Karen! Everything was more than I could ever ask for - very comprehensive. My mother was in particular awe. Hopefully I can try some of it out on Saturday!

3  Layout Help! I can't decide on one (*Image Obese!*) in Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions by xx_bumblebee_xx on: April 20, 2008 02:04:07 PM
So I'm making a bunch of scrapbooks for my friends and I so that we can remember our years together when we graduate high school in June, and then our last official summer together. I'm doing pages where we both journal on our friendship and I'm really stuck on this layout with my friend Angela. Here are my options:

I'm planning on using bright yellow for my mats (the same color as the yellow flower in the picture) and so far these are my embellishments:
Flower ribbon stickers
Many floral tags in different shapes and color tags (also stickers)

What one do you think would work best? Or do you have other ideas? Please, I really need some help on this. I hate being indecisive sometimes. Thanks!

Wow my partner, Maltiriel really spoiled me on package #1!

Photo of Maltiriel, her husband, pets, and locations around town. Also my letter, and postcards too:

Stationary! Oh my gosh - she did amazing for not being someone who is experiences with papercrafts. I got beautiful paisley lined paper in pink and green (my favorite colors!) and they have my name and address on them. I also got a notepad that is in the same paper but the top says "From the desk of Rachelia"! How cool is that? Then there are super-awesome envelopes with all my info printed on them, and they are lick-and stick! Beautiful insides too:

Show and Tell Items - a dishcloth made from her favorite pattern, one that resembles her grandmother's; favorite kind of chili (red); t-shirt from her favorite restaurant; the pen from her university; family recipes and prickly pear jam and candy:

Small items: Ravenclaw stamp, Ravenclaw windowcling, (handcarved Rachelia stamp pictured here, but it was stationary) sand globe, dreamcatcher pendant, chile-dusted pecans (YUM!), Guatemalan worry dolls.

Thanks so much, I love everything Cheesy

I've received! Another person who was spoiled, so if you get jealous easily, then you may want to avoid this post  Wink

This morning the dog was barking frantically at the door. I thought it was my package, but my mom said no, so we just yelled at the dog. Turns out, the post did leave my package, and I ripped it open before school. It made my whole day Smiley

I love the bag, the colors match my room and my personality! My sister went on for 5 minutes on how my partner must be lying, that it wasn't handmade, that audrey must have went out and bought it. Keep in mind that she has seen another bag I have gotten from a different swap, and that was not her reaction. I explained to her that the site was called craftsters and people there actually craft Cheesy Then she said audrey must have mad sewing skills. Soak up the compliments audrey, there from a 14 year old, too!

The bookmarks are so cute and looked like they were finicky to make, I appreciate them!

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory is next up for my reads. Now I can take my own sweet time with Gone with the Wind. The other book is Looking for Alaska by John Green. I've read good things about Looking for Alaska, and reading the back, it looks like I will enjoy it.

Sorry about the horrible picture. They wouldn't photography right!
Library Punk... well only audrey knows the whole, crazy story. I guess it's kind of an inside joke now. These are tags made out of shrink plastic.

Thanks again audrey! I can't wait for you to receive too...

6  Re: Reading Rainbow 4 Sendouts: Feb. 19th in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by xx_bumblebee_xx on: February 01, 2008 08:38:50 AM
I've finally got a picture of my English Culminating Task project. I forget the actual presentation mark but it was between 87-95% so yay!

I wasn't too happy with Miranda's perspective. I liked the gold plastic canvas as a cage, but I think its obviously lacking compared to Frederick's perspective.

The meaning of the objects on the table from l-r:
         - in that little case is an engagement ring that Frederick gave to Miranda
         - a butterfly net that has a heart in it, along with a butterfly
         - a butterfly 'killing box' that has a little doll representing Miranda, and a butterfly. Along the edge of the
box I just had a quote about her comparing her imprisonment to the capturing of a butterfly.

"She was his most beautiful specimen." Chilling.

7  Re: Reading Rainbow Swap round?? in New Swap Theme Ideas by xx_bumblebee_xx on: January 04, 2008 09:02:49 AM
Never heard of Jasper Fforde either, I must say.

As for reading books out of order in a series? Only for big series, as Astica said. For me this is R.L Stine, Christopher Pike, Sweet Valley High, and some Buffy. However I hardly read the first 3 series anymore, but I do have the books.

Book Preview
Here it is. Sorry there are so many pictures  Undecided

Buffy Book Case:

Stand-Alone Titles:

Cutoff in row 1 are: Looking for JJ, The Haunting, Riding in Cars with Boys, and Walk Two Moons (Watership down is the orange book, but you can't read the title).
Hiding in row 2 are: An organization book, The Shipping News, The Night Listener and Lucky

This is about the best picture of my shelves that I can find:

There are a bit more now, around 30 or so. Also, I have about 50 books in the basement to take to used book stores/sell at yard sales.

That medium sized book shelf that is white in the far left corner is devoted to my Buffy/Angel books! And I can't fit anymore on it Sad

9  Re: Pet photos for calendar (img. heavy!) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by xx_bumblebee_xx on: October 23, 2007 12:45:50 PM
I had this idea just last night for my pug. However, he is very hyper and won't stay still for that long. Nor do I probably have the patients or time (being a 17 yr old girl with crazy amounts of homework) to get him dressed up and sit still. We did dress him up as Santa though one year... but costumes don't fit him because he is 'pudgy'.
Here's a pictures of him:

10  Help with Digital Scrapbooking in Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions by xx_bumblebee_xx on: September 01, 2007 08:00:42 AM
So I am doing 5, yes that's right 5 books for my friends for graduation. I decided that, to cut down on costs, I would do about 20 pages in the actual book, then the second part of the book which is just between me and the girl receiving the scrapbook, on a CD through digital scrap booking. Now, I know my way around somewhat photo programs. We have Adobe Photoshop Limited Edition and I'm having some trouble with a page. It is the page that I downloaded for free here: http://scrapandrea.blogspot.com/2007/08/2nd-qp-freebie.html

How do I put an image in behind it. I tried using layers, but it doesn't work.

The image I want to put in is this one:

If someone could walk me through this, and/or even put the image in for me, I'd be very grateful!
