1  Oregon / Oregon: Northwest / Sewing lounge in Portland? on: May 03, 2007 12:15:32 PM
Does anyone know if we have a sewing lounge in the Portland-Vancouver metro area? A place where you can rent a sewing machine by the hour and work on your project there or you just rent the space to spread out and work on a craft project. If there isn't one here - do we need one?
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My take on the melted bead madness on: July 09, 2006 12:16:39 AM
I have to admit, I too have been bitten by the melted bead bug. Here are some candle holders that my son made from pony beads:

And covers I made for my ceiling lights. I did not use pony beads for these - I used bigger thicker beads. I really like the way these turned out because they have so much texture.

What do you think?
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embrodiery Ties on: June 13, 2006 02:04:09 PM
I have just recently gotten back into embrodiery and recently completed these ties (the ties are handmade as well). What do you think?

The pink ties are for my son's girlfriend and the black ties - the middle one went to my son and the other two were for son's of friends who graduated  this year.
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilted chalkboard wallhanging on: May 17, 2006 05:08:29 PM
Here is a quilted wallhanging I did for my son to hang in his dorm room. We found this great chalkboard fabric and he just had to have it. He has music tatoos and so the lady at the fabric store joked that he could use it to compose his masterpiece, which is really kinda what he wanted it for. I used Mata's star block, which I absolutely love, and the green and black fabric are of musical instruments.

Sorry about the picture, my walls are so full I didn't have anywhere I could hang it up.
