1  Maggie Simpson costume in Halloween Costumes by peardream on: November 09, 2009 07:36:29 PM
This was my baby's first Halloween.  I was determined from the day that she was born that I'd make her a Maggie Simpson costume for halloween.

Here's how it turned out. I'm not a pro but it looked cute enough!

2  I have the coolest craft organizer! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by peardream on: March 16, 2007 07:03:16 AM
I have always wanted an old card catalog from a library (don't ask why...i'm a library nerd).

So I found one on craigslist!!!! It has 72 drawers, ready for me to fill it up with my random craft goodies.

I am just tickled about having it! My boyfriend thought I was kinda nuts for wanting it, but it's a piece of history!

3  My "old man's" new reversible coat in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by peardream on: August 19, 2006 08:10:42 AM
This is my first attempt at making my dog any sort of outfit.  He was so funny when I was trying to draw up a pattern.  He kept rolling around and acting like a puppy (he's 14 now).

I think he looks really good in plaid...so dapper.

Here's the reverse side.  It's this cute space dog fabric I found at Joanne's.

His eyes look really weird in these pictures (he's partially blind) but he doesn't look like that all the time- only in certain light.

His name is Goober (I adopted him when he was 7 and he was already named).

4  Jessica Simpson Dress in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by peardream on: July 11, 2006 10:38:32 AM
Ok guys, let me just say, I am not a Jessica Simpson fan.....but I saw a pic of her in this dress, and I just think it's gorgous!

I don't know if I'd be able to re-create it, since I have never sewn a dress before, but I thought some of you might like the dress.

It's the blue and white dress on the right.  Forgive me for not editing the pic, but I'm at work....so I had to make this quick!

5  My attempt at microscope slide pendants- NEW IMPROVED PICS! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by peardream on: July 09, 2006 05:39:15 PM
Hi guys.  I finally tried my hand at soldering microscope pendants.  Soldering if harder than I thought it would be!  Anyway, here's what I came up with.  They are double sided pendants.
Here's the fronts: NEW AND IMPROVED PICS!

Here's the backs:

Let me know what you all think.

6  Re: Melted beads = stain glass-esque lamp shade in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by peardream on: June 20, 2006 07:05:27 PM
Well, I just finished my first lampshade.  It turned out kinda uneven, but overall I think it looks pretty good.  The pictures really don't do it justice....

Here's a pic of the beads before they were baked
And here's a pic of it lit up

I'll try to take better pics tomorrow but I couldn't wait!
Let me know what you all think.....

P.S. The stink was horrible

7  Cute Purse- Black Cats on Chairs- Retro Mod print in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peardream on: June 08, 2006 01:05:41 PM
Hello fellow craftsters.  This will be the second purse I posted here.  I found this fabric and just had to buy it.  I'm not a cat person really, but I love the retro/mod look of it- i love the chairs!  It's not perfect.  Next time around I'll use a stiffer stabilizer and probably attempt a zipper.  This is my first attempt at piping.  I love the look of it.  It gives such a neat look to the bag (besides the exposed ends of the piping- which I will avoid next try).

This one has a magnetic snap closure...I messed up by putting the closure prongs through the front of the fabric flab....so i had to improvise and put a painted bottle cap over it to hide it.  It's held on by magnetic forces now so I can take it off and cover it up with something else in the future.

here's the inside of the bag.  I put the pocket up too high..oh well....

Let me know what you all think.  Thanks for looking!

8  Patchwork Messenger Bag (my first craftster post!) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peardream on: May 10, 2006 05:30:13 PM
I've been a lurker for a while now and finally made something that I wanted to share with all of you.

It's a messenger type bag with a patchwork front. I made it for my mom for Mother's Day.  It took me pretty much all day Saturday and part of Sunday, but it's finally in the mail, on the way to mommy in Michigan!

The patchwork was done seperately and then I Heat N Bonded it to the flap of the messenger bag.  The pics don't really show the construction of it, but the bottom is kinda rectangular.  I used velcro for the closure, because I haven't had the guts to try a zipper yet.  The inside of the bag has one pocket.

I'd appreciate some feedback from all of you talented, wonderful craftsters!!! (did i stroke your egos enough?)

bag being modeled on a fence (an ugly fence, i might add)

inside of bag, showing pocket (sorry for the crappy picture)

Thanks for taking a look!
