can you make the paint work with your purse? add to it and make a really cool silhouette painting on your purse.

...that can make everything I can and has made herself alot of stuff already??

i usually frequent the "bag" thing but she makes those and has some pretty cool ones.
this probably helps... i sew and crochet very poorly and can't knit. i can glue things and cut things out.. i can draw... uhh..... yep.

she's pretty unique and likes unique girly things....and hello kitty... well.. sanrio stuff in general.
i've thought about recepie cards and a plushie?
ugh. i dont know.

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: beginning photography on: February 23, 2007 10:03:12 AM
i apologize ahead of time.... sorry... i felt like i needed to vocalize my critiques and tips..

actually my favorite is the tree picture. it has great composition... though it's placed in the center (and has the potential to make the photo look like it's 2 seperate ones) it works because of the foliage around it. i also love the contrast between the organic forms (the tree) and the geometric forms (the building). also.... <3..... the tonal contrast!! i love when photos have great tonal contrast. it makes the photo way more appealing to the viewer.

don't underestimate the importance of negative space!
i don't think the tree photo would have worked as well without the sky peeking through at the top. i even like how you can see the ground wrap around the taller.. foliage(?) on the left side.
the photos that were taken inside are a little dark and they need a little more contrast i think.
the flower one has great potential! it just needs a little "finessing"... there's GREAT negative and positive spaces down by the the leaves of the flowers.
just play with the composition a little! also don't forget you can also change your whole composition in the darkroom under the enlarger (and contrast with filters!!).

oh god... i hope i don't sound too bossy or snooty.. im just trying to help...
oh god... im sorry. all these years of art school just make me wanna talk and talk and talk during "critiques". im sorry if i offended you.  Undecided

I wasn't sure if you meant its tight just trying to go in where your zipper is. May I ask where you got that fab orange vinyl?? I sew with vinyl all the time and have never seen such a nice orange color.

oh geez guys...
thanks so much for all your comments! they mae me happy!
i've posted other things (i think under a different name) and i've never gotten this many replies. it's awesome!

yeah it does actually make sense but it would be really tight and i don't think that it would fit. what i was saying about it being tight by the zipper was that i have to like.... wriggle my lappie to get passed the zipper part. it just barely fits.
also, the vinyl is actually a red-orange with more towards the red. it was actually just sitting in the remmnants rack/tub thing at joanns. i was standing there waiting to get my liner cut and my friend said "oh hey! look at this!" and i totally just snatched it out of her hands. haha.
.........what? it's not like she was going to use it........  Roll Eyes Cheesy

so i actually made a different laptop bag before this one... padded and everything. got to the end (just needed to sew zipper, lining and strap on) and decided that i hated how it looked....... i still hate how it looks. i had an image in my head and it just didn't turn out as sweet as i wanted.....

so i scrapped the whole thing and made a totally different one.
this was my first time sewing with vinyl and i LOVE how it looks but i don't love how it sews.......... despite that, i think i'll still use it in the future.
i actually plan on making a little bag to go inside of it for my mouse and all those extra little annoyances. i also LOVE the fact that it's waterproof.... NE Ohio?? yeah..... lots of precipitation... cruddy days.... we're used to that.

here's the down part... i don't think that i will have room for a sleeve.... as of right now it's not a padded bag. i was just going to make a big bag and make a sleeve for my computer to sit in. it's pretty tight getting it in.....  Undecided  Cry
i may just take the zipper out..... suggestions welcome.

here it is in its entirety..

....a detail of the outside...

the inside...

....detail of the fabric (which the print is semi-mimicked on the outside)...

i don't really think im done with it but tell me what you guys think......
