1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Stomps! Seriously cool baby shoes on: July 04, 2010 11:01:31 AM
Do you remember what pattern number these were?  I'm looking at sewingwithme1's etsy page, and I can't seem to find a pair that looks like the shoes you made.
I'd love to make these for a friend, so I want to find the pattern!   Smiley

Great work, by the way!!  Love your fabric choices!

UPDATE:  Nevermind!  I found them in her other store.  She has more than one.  Smiley
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Recipe Book Swap Gallery!!! on: February 24, 2007 10:56:37 AM
And this is what Jen sent me!

*An amazing retro-patterned cookbook painted in red and yellow to match my kitchen, with my initial on the cover
*The March issue of Rachael Ray's magazine
*Fruit smoothie Jolly Ranchers -- my new favourite kind!

Each page of the cookbook has it's own retro-patterned paper and little pictures to illustrate the recipe!

Thanks, Jen!  You were a fantastic swap partner!

Jen can't find the cable for her camera, so she asked me to post a picture of what I sent her!

*Her cookbook
*10 vegan recipes (most of which I tried out --yum!)
*2 heart-shped baking tins
*Vegan hemp lip balm
*3 fruit leathers
*A vegan pecan raisin oatmeal cookie from my co-op
*2 brochures on vegan foods, which also contain recipes

Wine charms with gorgeous glass beads...

I LOVE SHARPIES!!!  8 of them!!

She made me the most amazing scarf!!  I can't imagine how much time it must have taken to make!!  (I have to admit, Melinda, I saw the scarf on your blog, but I thought it was much smaller!  This is just so beautiful!!)  Here's an action shot  Cheesy

It looks so pretty with my coat!!

Thank you so much, Melinda!!
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: RECIPE BOOK SWAP: Signups CLOSED!!!, Send 02/09 on: January 18, 2007 12:09:41 PM
I've got most of my recipes picked out and typed.  I need to test a couple of them that are new to me.  My partner is a vegan, so a lot of my favourite recipes didn't work or needed to be altered for her.  I want to make sure they're super yummy before I send them!

I've also got to get the ink refilled in my printer before I can get much further on the project!

I'm so in!!  I just looked at the 2 galleries, and I love all the great things people packed into those Pringles cans....  Ideas, ideas!!

Yes, glittergirl94, what is a DIY kit?  Example?  Because that sounds like fun!

Alwaysinmyroom-- Thanks so much!!   Cheesy  I did go a little overboard on the package, I think.  But I was having so much fun putting everything together, and Amanda had given me a great list with lots of ideas!  I just kept thinking of what I would've loved to get in a care package back when I was in school, especially when I had just moved out on my own...
8  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 11/29/06 - Craftster Design Reproduced on Gilmore Girls TV Show on: December 08, 2006 11:44:01 AM
This was in today's Pop Candy section on USAToday.com:

I know that you are on the outs with Gilmore Girls, but I thought you might be able to help with something. In last week's episode, Lorelai wore a shirt with "Knit or Go Home" and a skull with crossed knitting needles on it. I need this shirt, and wondered if you knew of somewhere that I might be able to find out more about it. -- Christa M.

Some bad news: I contacted the CW, and a spokeswoman told me the shirt was "a one-of-a-kind creation by the show's fabulous costume designer, Brenda Maben." It's not available in stores, so it looks like you'll have to make your own!

Update: My friend Patrick C. just told me they're selling some decent knockoffs on CafePress.com.

"One-of-a-kind-creation" huh?  That makes me mad.

In the Comments section, a few people refer this girl to Cafe Press.com.  One girl refered her to Craftster.net.
Here's what I wrote:
The knitting tee on GG was a pretty exact knock-off of a Craftster.org tee. They just added the words "Knit or Go Home." This tee is sold at Cafe Press:
And Magpie:

Knock-offs on Cafe Press are being taken down if they look too much like the Craftster tee, because they're a copyright infringement. A fabulous woman named Leah runs Craftster.org and designed the tee herself, so please buy a shirt from her and not a knock-off!!! I believe Leah is working on a way that you can order the shirts and add your own words...

Babiestarlite13 has now recieved her package from me, and I offered to post pictures because she has a slow connection and it would take a lot of time for her to do it...

Here is all of her loot:

The embroidered dishtowels were probably my favorite part.  I used Sublime Stitching's Viva Las Vegas transfers:

12 envelopes made from magazine pictures:

A Holiday Garland that I made using an idea from a Martha Stewart magazine.

You make lots of circles and glue 2 of the same to each side of a piece of string.  It took a long time, but it was fun.  Here it is spread out:

The package also had:
Orange Cleaning Wipes
Hematite star-shaped beads
Watermelon Jolly Ranchers
Mini colored pens
Yellow highlighters
A rubber stamp with stars
2 yellow star-shaped buttons
Apple cider mix that is SO yummy
Vitamin C orange drink mix
Travel-sized Mary Kay Satin Hands
Grey marled yarn (lots of rainbow colors in there)
A star/asterik-shaped hole punch
Extra apple gum
Journal with handmade paper and a ribbon bow
Cream-filled wafer rolls- chocolate!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: recipe book swap? on: December 06, 2006 09:38:54 PM
I just found this thread, and I SOO want to join!!  I agree with a lot of you--> personalized swap (I'm mostly a vegetarian), January sounds great, I'm up for whatever limits as far as # of recipes.

This will be so fun!  For the first time since I've been living on my own, I have a kitchen that's actually large enough to cook in, so I've been just starting to cook and I've really enjoyed it!!  It will be fantastic to get some new recipes, especially ones that have already been tested and perfected!
