51  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I Love Toxic Waste! on: May 11, 2004 06:05:12 PM
Has anyone seen Real Genius? Well I was watching it with my friend luigi the other night and he really wanted the shirt that Val Kilmer wears that says "I love Toxic Waste" so I made one for him.. I just used a plain white shirt and replaced the sleeves and collar and stenciled the words on.

52  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Robot raglan shirt! on: May 10, 2004 07:47:34 PM
I was wandering my local thrift town and trying to find something to satisfy my craft bug.. I wanted to find a cool shirt to revamp but i couldn't find any good ones. Instead i got a plain white shirt and a plain red shirt and used some paint i already had.. this is what I got..

53  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dad's old shirt on: May 06, 2004 11:03:10 PM
This shirt belonged to my dad:

And I wanted it but it was (obviously) huge on me and not very flattering so I changed it up a bit

I just used a pattern I had for a raglan sleeved shirt and used the front of the pattern for the front of the shirt, etc, and used some random blue knit I had sitting around (It matched the blue in the shirt perfectly) to make the sleeves and collar.. i had enough of the yellow for it but decided it needed jazzing up.

hm.. looks like angelfire is being stubborn and not showing my pictures.. maybe that's just on my computer though? let me know if they don't work.
54  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Binding Help! on: April 16, 2004 08:31:48 PM
I made a journal out of an old record cover but when I went to have it bound the spiral binding machine at Kinko's couldn't punch through the cover because it was too thick...so now I'm not sure how I'm going to bind it.  Anyone have any ideas?
55  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / record cover journal on: April 15, 2004 11:26:13 PM
After reading Anu's post about her record covered notebook and about how she actually had made the front of a journal out of a rectangle cut out of a record I had to try it.. so I did.. here are my results. It could use some perfecting.. but I'm excited about what I got anyway Smiley (oh yeah, and my pictures aren't so good.. no macro button on the ol' digi cam.. but here they are.. )

since it's hard to read.. the album is "Urban Chipmunk Featuring Alvin, Simon and Theodore"... I laughed so hard when I saw it I just couldn't resist..

I don't have an electric burner so I tried this using the oven method.. It did warp quite a bit! But i flattened it back down some and now it just has character..i need to smooth the edges too but i'm at college right now and I don't really have ANYTHING to work with!
56  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Stuffed Robots on: April 13, 2004 01:39:52 AM
The inspiration for this project was my friend Luigi's birthday.. I didn't know what to get him and then I remembered how much he loves robots! So I made him a stuffed one. I had a really hard time sending it to him, so I made myself one too...haha..

His and hers robots, as it were.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this project, so I went to my thrift store to get the stuff... I came away with an old pair of corduroy pants, a pillow (for the stuffing..) shower curtain hangers (hands..) and buttons
