1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shirts, Skirts and Dresses.... on: June 28, 2010 02:05:06 PM
Hi Guys,

It has been a while since I've posted here, so I figure I'd show you some projects I've done lately. I also have some questions, any feed back would be nice, and my bf would appreciate it too- I keep on asking him questions that he just doesn't comprehend ("should I bring this seam in?"..... "uh.. sure"), poor guy.

this was made from one of my boyfriend's old shirts.

I may have to mess a little with this dress- I've lost some weight since I originally made it.

Okay, Thanks for looking, and I hope you have a nice day,

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Cheap and Transportable decorations? on: June 06, 2010 05:54:29 AM

I just moved into a new place, it's campus housing (I'm tagging along while my boyfriend gets his masters), so I can't make any permanent changes. Do any of you brilliant craftsters have any ideas of how to make this white painted box feel like a home? I'd show you pictures, but they would bore you to death, white white white....

We will be moving out in August, so any decorations that would be easy to pack away and use at our next place would be ideal. It seems a little silly to decorate for a few months, but I know I'll feel better every minute I'm here if it was a homier.

If you are wondering what kind of decorations I go for, heres a picture of my room a few years ago-

These days I value simplicity a little more, but I still love bright colors and unusual stuff.
Any help would be very very appreciated,

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Vacation Dress - Kodaikanal Kurta on: May 27, 2010 10:44:14 AM
Beautiful dress, it looks comfortable too, which is especially important on vacation.
Kodai looks beautiful, my boyfriend actually used to go to boarding school there, he remembers a lot of the places in your pictures
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: He made me flowers! on: December 16, 2008 09:20:06 PM
Grin That's very funny- it's one of those times where the boys manage to make a "my b.f. is a jerk" day turn into "I have the best boy ever" day. clever bastards...

on a more related note- those flowers look really cool, and you'll be able to keep them around way longer than cut flowers.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dress to wear to the wedding of inlaws that hate me.. HELP! on: October 03, 2008 09:00:07 AM
I agree with a lot of the others, I think the third one would look great on you, especially in a rich fall color. Good luck!
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! on: July 20, 2008 07:27:24 AM

I have never gotten a tattoo but I would like to get a little red umbrella (like an inch long) on my wrist. The thing is that I want it to look almost photographic.  Is this reasonable to expect? I don't want a black outline that is colored red. Also, do most tattoo parlors do wrists? There are 2 tattoo places in my town, and I know that I will have to talk to them, but I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice first.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: True Pinafore Skirt Dress on: July 14, 2008 12:11:29 AM
That pinafore looks great! It looks well made, and is very flattering, esp. with that shirt. cheese was right when she said it looks very classy.
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: b is for basil, assaulted by bears.. or why i love freezer paper on: September 06, 2007 08:56:30 PM
thanks for all you comments!
i'm psyched that some people can tell it's john waters- no one around here knows who he is
unfortunately, the stencils (including Igor) only existed on freezer paper, so i can't currently share them
oh- and i used regular acrylic paint
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: pop up ish book on: August 19, 2007 06:37:13 PM
thanks for your comments, and, yup it folds shut
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / pop up ish book on: August 19, 2007 07:47:53 AM
i'm not entirely sure whether this is actually a pop up book or not, it's more like a page from a pop up book. I got the idea for the construction from a book I found at the library. This was my first attempt, I basically decided get all the mistakes out of the way and hopefully next time come out with something better.
At any rate, here it is-

i need to figure out how to get the paper to stay straighter

thanks for looking!
