1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Help. Wolf Costume on: September 29, 2010 10:24:25 PM
My bf and I are going to an amusement park soon and want to dress up for their Halloween party.  I'm going as Little Red Riding Hood and we want him to be the big bad wolf.  The costume needs to be simple, one where we can ride rides all day.  I was thinking of just jeans and a cut flannel shirt, but can't think of how to make him more wolf-like.  He's kinda hairy (i.e. beard) so I was planning on just messing up his hair. What other easy accessories would work. Not sure how he feels about a lot of makeup or wearing fangs.

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Some felt plushies (morbidly image obese!) on: June 14, 2009 03:21:57 PM
I've never seen a strawberry baguette but it does resemble a strawberry eclair that i loved to eat when i was in France.  super cute plushies.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: it's a dress that's made out of a parachute... that's actually a tent. on: December 05, 2008 09:27:55 AM
I love it.  It's so gorgeous.  It makes me really jealous cause we had a parachute in our basement, that only my mom knew was there.  She gave it away in a white elephant gift party.  I wanted to craft with it so bad. Cry
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Queen of Hearts on: November 05, 2008 06:54:46 PM
So my friend had a black bridesmaid dress that she wanted to use and also had a desire to be the queen of hearts.  We tried to make it sort of tim burtonish, but since we were sewing hearts on after the party had started it didn't quite make it.
The hat was made out of paper mache and a two decks of cards. We used this tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=117656.0 .  The flamingo was a lawn ornament from a friends yard.  The hat and the overskirt are what we made.

a friend showed up as a mad hatter

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Baby Hat Pattern on: July 04, 2008 10:26:20 PM
So I found the cutest knitted hat that was elvish and pointy and for a toddler, with the written changes for a baby or an adult.  It was perfect because it was knit flat (I have no idea how to use double pointed needles and don't really have the time to learn... stupid school).  I bookmarked the site for later.  Unfortunatly my computer then proceded to crash and I lost everything.
Now my cousin is having a baby this fall and I would love to knit a hat for the baby.  I have looked everywhere for the pattern, but cannot find it.
Any pattern knit flat would be amazing and a pointy top would just be the icing on the cake.
Thanks for any pattern info you can find.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: TSA proofing my crafting on: February 01, 2008 05:10:24 PM
I took my size us 8 or 10 metal needles with me to London last year, no problem at all, except my classmates being suprised that i could take them.
I was so glad i had them too, cause our flight got cancled and we rerouted, i had over 12 hours sitting at airports and an 8 hour car ride.  Check with the teacher, cause it has to be just her rule.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: tree guy hat on: December 11, 2007 09:40:28 AM
i love the hat, it's so unique
being the nerd that i am, i looked at the picutre and thought that if you took off the leaves, and tied up the branches, you have a very easy Princess Leia hat.  which would be perfect for other nerds.
8  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Zoe and Jayne costumes on: November 05, 2007 06:53:29 PM
I love your costume, and the fact that your son has a tiny Vera.  Your vest is gorgeous.  You have inspired me to try and convince my friends to be the crew of Serenity next year for halloween.
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Artist's Choice ATC Swap on: January 19, 2007 10:58:08 AM
They are all so gorgeous, but I was wondering if anyone knew what language was on the "Dusty Moon" ATC.  It looks like Khmer but I wasn't positive.  It's one of those things that is going to drive me crazy untill i figure it out.
10  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Susan, or the dress I spent hours making so I could wear once. on: November 12, 2006 09:41:44 PM
Thank goodness for amazing friends who will spend hours helping you make a dress.  I have been talking about this dress from the second I saw the movie.  I finally found a pattern that worked great, it even had the points on the sleeves.  We had to adjust the pattern to fit me, but in the end it turned out amazing.  Espcially since this was the first time I've ever made a dress from a pattern.  The quiver is made from poster board that I paper mached to make it sturdy.  The arrows are dowl rods.  I cut up some plastic leis to make the fletching.  So without further ado here is my Susan Pevensie dress based off of the Chronicles of Narnia.
