is this the center of a whole nutmeg...

if so, how did you preserve it (if you did at all)?

2  Candy Stripes Bag!!! (w/ STYLISH flap!) in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by PeaceNow on: December 26, 2004 02:14:28 PM
hello all!!! i just got a digital camera for Christmas...so expect me to post x10000 more!!!

i am surprised that i am the first to post the completion of this amazing bag. it was very easy and i am uber content with the results.

why is there a flap?!
when i first saw this pattern...i was excited to see a bag pattern that didnt require a zipper...3/4 of the way done, i realized i was very wrong. being the belligerent person i am, i made a flap. how? just add 30-40 more rows with MC on the back pannel after you complete the given pattern and BO with C1.

in short. i am verrrryyyy happy.

front pannel

full body shot

close-up on strap and flap

back pannel...ignore the out of place yellow string

i hope this inspires!

peace and lots o' luv

4  Re: coptic bound book in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by PeaceNow on: June 02, 2004 01:28:52 PM
My first coptic bound book. The inside pages are white newsprint, the covers are black photoboard, the stitching was done with pink embroidery floss and the design was painted on with gouache.

i love the back design..

okey doke..
here is my tutorial Smiley

1. you HAVE to have PhotoShop in order to make a sencil...
download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp (you only have 30 days...so make them quickly!)

2. when you have photoshop...you need a picture (duh!). I suggest a good ol' google search to help you out. Save the picture to your computer when you found "the one"

(ill use my never-fail Guster photo)

3. open up your picture in photoshop

4. now you need to turn your picture black and white...do this by going to IMAGE...then MODE
when you go there...click on "grayscale"...then click OK
(mines already black and white)

5. ok...your picture is now black and white...now what? Go to ENHANCE...ADJUST BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST.... BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST (again). You'll see a little slider thingy...slide to the VERY end of the CONTRAST slider...
and there you go!
(TA DA!)

very handy, eh?
If you wanna change the size, go to IMAGE...RESIZE...and chang your size
Now, print it on cardstock (i used a side of a manilla folder) and cut out the black parts of the sencil and

TA DA...it can go anywhere! Jeans, tees, bags! YAY!
