You actually can use soymilk for boxed puddings, you just need to use less than called for.  I've tried it a few times and it's worked great for me.  I think I remember using up to a half cup less soy milk for the small package of Jello pudding, but it's been a while since I've done it, so you may want to experiment a bit.

The Silk Soymilk website suggests to use less soy milk for puddings and pie fillings (it doesn't say how much) and to add 1/4 cup cornstarch.  I've never tried this myself, so I don't know how well it turns out.

Thanks for the whipped cream recipe! I'm definitely trying that and the green tea cake.  Maybe even the mochi too.... Smiley

Those look yummy....I want to know what the frosting looking stuff next to the green tea cake is.  Do you have a recipe for that too?
4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Chocolate Chai on: August 08, 2007 03:16:04 PM
Does chai usually have vanilla?  I've never made it myself.  I usually get it at some coffee place and someone told me it's really good if you add a shot of vanilla.  I've been doing that ever since...

I was looking for something warm and chocolatey last night and I just happened to come across this recipe.  I used an earl grey with soy milk and all the spices except for the peppercorns (didn't have any on hand).  It was soooo good!  Next time I think I'm going to try this with a little bit of vanilla.

That's got to be the coolest cake I've ever seen!  I like how you used the boxes as a mountain.  Very cute!

That's such a smart idea!  I also love brownie edges, they're the best part  Smiley

My first thought was flan.  I've never actually made it myself though, so I don't have a recipe to recommend, but I'm pretty sure you could find a good one online.

The sacrifice was well worth it!  The red fabric is beautiful and so are the bags.  They all turned out great.
