11  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Cauldron (IMG heavy) on: December 22, 2007 11:11:02 AM
For this quarter in English I made the cauldron from Macbeth, I crocheted all the little ingredients for the potion and the cauldron, and the logs, and the flames. The flames are a chained line sewed on to the cauldron. There is tooth of wolf, wing of howlet (baby owl), fillet of snake, eye of newt, wool of bat, poisoned entrails, tongue of snake, tongue of dog, and my favorite liver of a blaspheming Jew(you can only see the Jew liver in the first pic, sorry) ! You can guess which is which in the pictures!

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First Finished Scarf on: November 24, 2007 08:43:54 PM
I have know how to knit for about four years, but knitting and I have never really gotten along, and about two years ago I learned how to crochet and I got stuck on it right away. Well, I decided to actually finish a knitted scarf, the first one I made turned into a purse because I got bored! I finally finished it this summer and it is one of my new favorite scarfs and the only one I've ever knit. It is about seven feet long, and its made from two different yarns, one it kind of furry but also has another strand with little baubles on it, and the other is some plain yellow yarn.

13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Grendel on: November 09, 2007 03:50:49 PM
I have to do some project for English and I want to crochet Grendel, but I can't find a pattern or even an example of anything that will seem to work. Do you have any suggestions?
14  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Really Long Scarf on: October 23, 2007 07:22:20 PM
I made this during my sewing class because I didn't feel like doing what I was supposed to be doing. My teacher knits a lot and she didn't like how this yarn looked knitted (neither did I) so she put it in the back of her room for the students to use and since it was the only nice yarn there I thought I would use it. It turned out to be really cute and I like how the yarn looked crocheted much better!

15  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Elephant Bib on: October 23, 2007 07:13:12 PM
This is a bib I made a long time ago either before my nephew was born or right after and it seemed to kind of be impractical. I was wanting a picture of it because I didn't have any so my sister got it out to take a picture and it turned into one of my nephew's new favorite toys. I don't remember where I got the pattern from but its out there somewhere!

I just got some pictures of my nephew wearing it so I thought I would post them!

16  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Poseidon on: September 23, 2007 10:26:52 AM
For English I had to make a Greek project and I wanted to crochet something so I made a list of characters I could make and Poseidon seemed like the most fun. This is my first Amigurumi that I've ever made so I'm pretty happy with the results. I got the pattern for the body from http://stitch.hellooperator.net/free-patterns/amigurumi-doll/amigurumi-doll-pattern-charts/
it is a really great pattern, I used a bigger hook so he's about two feet tall I think, I free handed the toga and the trident, I had to cut up a couple of hangers to put in the trident so it would bend. I don't want to give him to my teacher he is so cute and fun to hold, but I think that now I know how to make him better I'll make another.

17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Making Your Own Designs on: July 12, 2006 08:31:13 PM
I have made things from patterns before, and I can do it fairly well, but the thing is I make a lot of my own designs. They all use basic curves and everything and I was wondering if anyone know of any sites of books that might be able to show basic patterns and shapes, so that I can make some of my own designs. I would go to school for it but I am still in highschool and don't have the time so I am hoping to learn on my own. Thanks for any suggestions and help!!!

19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My "Mesh" Bag on: June 07, 2006 02:56:04 PM
I was going to make this tank top cover type thingy that I got from a free pattern from here: http://www.nyyarns.com/free_patterns/tropicalsilk2.pdf , but I decided I didn't want to half way through! I didn't want all the work I did to go to waste so I made it into a bag! Here is my "mesh" bag!!!
