1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Can you name this? on: July 08, 2006 10:50:57 PM

I wanted to make a bag like this but I don't know what it is called! I wanted to look at other pictures of them but I can't do a search for them if I don't know what it is called Roll Eyes I have seen them a few times, are they popular now? I haven't really been to any stores lately so I haven't really seen them at anystores but I have seen people wearing them around. I had wanted to make one to carry my books in and also other stuff I might want at the time. DO you think this would make a good book bag?
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Flaker that is trying to un-flake herself problems.... on: July 02, 2006 04:16:19 PM
I have a question about flakers that try to come back and unflake themselves like me. Should they be allowed to get the package that was intended for them first? If they haven't already gotten it, that is. Also, what if the package was for a flaker but you still got negative feedback for it? What if you are in a swap that hasn't ended yet? Do you get kicked out? And if you do do you get negative feedback for that? What if your partner doesn't want you as a partner anymore? How can you make that up? How can you make up for people already angeled for? In one of the swaps I am making up, I am considering making something for the angel instead of my original partner cause I don't have their original package in my possession.

Sorry about all the questions ( an my flaky-ness Embarrassed) but I am just a little confused about the whole, 'So you want to be an ex-flaker" process. I intend to make up all of my swaps (made lots of pms today), I just don't know how. Oh and their were extinuating circumstances so I didn't flake just to flake. I got kicked out of my house and I didn't have access to a computer or my craft stuff sinve then so that is why I didn't send my packages. NAd the packes that were already finished where with my craft stuff too so I couldn't send that either Sad

EDIT: another question, um would I be able to participate in other swaps after I get everything straightened out? Also, would there be special rules or whatever for me since I am (or rather will be) an ex-flaker?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My First Pattern! Felted Vase on: May 13, 2006 11:44:53 AM
It is a little wonky and I need to work on it some more but here it is

Originally I wanted to use it for the Sweat shoppe swap but I need to work on the pattern some more. The bottem is a little too fat. It sort of pukers around and it looks like a pumpkin.   Also the hole in the middle was a bit too small for me.  And it took me less than three hours to complete! I cast on in first period and finished off in second period at school yesterday Roll Eyes

So what do you think?

PS sorry for the blurry picture

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Fabric advice for my raggedy quilt on: April 16, 2006 10:42:09 AM
Hi! I want to make a lap quilt for me and I'm having trouble with my fabric choices. The whole back of the quilt will be light blue so I sort of wanted the front to match it. Well, here is what I am working with now

the front fabrics

fabric for the back. I wanted it in all one color and this is the only stuff I have at the moment

I just wanted to know if any of these went with the other stuff I had to go on the front of the blanket

What do you think about these fabrics?

It isn't mostly blue but it has blue in it. Do you think I could throw this in too?

Same thing for these too.

it is mostly blue but my friend said that it looked too old fashioned or something, oh and it used to be a curtain so it is a bit faded in some places

Thanks for your help Smiley
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Ongoing yarn swap? on: April 15, 2006 11:39:48 PM
I thought that this would be cool. The ongoing fabric swap is really cool so why wouldn't this be too?

I was thinkig it has to be unused skeins with labels unless otherwise specified and a description.  Also, you have to be able to take pics of it and stuff. What do you think?
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Probably not right... on: April 06, 2006 05:15:47 PM
But I am really desperate. Now I brought quilt making suppies making supplies a long time ago and I made a quilt with it. Since then, my ruler, mat and rotary cutter have all been floating around my room. Now that I want to make another quilt I can not find my ruler! I really need one in a hurry and I can't really aford it right now. I do have a little stash though can someone please pm me for a personal trade? If you aren't using it anymore, I would put it to good use. And I will put it up in a safe place once I am finished with my quilt. Also, my mat is a little on the small size also so if you don't want that, I would like one of those too Smiley

10  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Sort of beginner quilt question on: April 03, 2006 02:28:17 PM
Hi! I am sort of new to quilting. I have made a quilt before (link to pic http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i218/verycrafty2/DSCI0021.jpg ) but i want to make a shaggy quilt. I think this will go a lot better than my last attempt. Roll Eyes Anyway, i wanted to make it lap quilt sized but what exactly would be a lab quilt size be? Also, I was wondering what size i sould cut my squares? And, would it look good if i made it out of 22 different fabrics? I sort of want it to look like a crazy quilt but not too crazy. Should I stay with in a color range or two? Or should I just go buck wild and do all the colors I want? I really don't know where to start on colors and I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!
