1  Reduction Tote Bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by sammimag on: September 11, 2007 08:51:10 AM

My altered version of  the Reduction Tote  Bag by Anne Frost.  You can find the pattern here:

All the thread came from my stash and lots was picked up at the thrift store months ago.

I used the Willow square from 200 Crocheted Blocks but added a few xtra rows. I did about 10 less rows for the mesh because I find this stitch plenty stretchy so I didn't think I needed as much height as the pattern called for.

I still need to sew on some buttons. I am sure I have some stashed somewhere.

You can see the the flap is showing on the outside of the square. I might put the flap on the inside so when it's all folded up it so it doesn't cover up the pretty square.

2  Skull Bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by sammimag on: September 11, 2007 08:48:23 AM
I made this for my son who loves skull anything. He loves it. I used a zipper for the first time and it was a pain to put in. There has got to be an easier way. I managed.

3  Re: Zimmerman KAL?? in Knitalongs by sammimag on: August 29, 2007 07:32:53 AM
I finished up my hat.  I can't  believe how quick hats knit up. It ift jsut great not too tight and not too loose.

Elizebeth Zimmerman Inspired Hat from Knitting Workshop info and others.
Paton's SWS - raisin, berry, and geranium
#9 needles knit picks options needles doing a modified magic loop
k2tog decrease to make a right slanting spiral

If I did it over again,  I would start the color work a little sooner and I would also     use less stitches on the ribbing then increase up to stitches for the hat.

I really want to give the Surprise Jacket a try too but really don't have any babies to make for either.

Well, I did go out and buy some Patons SWS.  It's on sale at Michael's this week BTW. Instead of making a sweater I cast on a hat using info from Knitting Workshop mostly. I'm doing color work for the first time too, a very basic design.

Patons SWS
#9 needles - knit picks circs modified magic loop (not sure there is such a thing but that's what I'm calling it.)
Raisin - for the main color
Geranium - for the first color bar and the 3rd color bar in progress.
Berry -  for the 2nd color bar

I hope it fits.  I don't think it will be too small but I am a bit worried it will be too big or on the loose side.

I love the feel of this yarn as I knit but it is a bit finicky.  It's easy to snag an split. So it's slowish going.

Thanks for looking.

6  Knitted Wire Bracelets in Knitting: Completed Projects by sammimag on: August 19, 2007 08:54:30 AM
Ever since I saw Nancie Weissman, on Knitty Gritty,  knitting with wire I've wanted to give this a try so I did this weekend and this is what I made.

Materials Used:
#4 needles
a crochet hook of the right size
#26 gauge wire (I'm not sure how much I used, it was a left over spool from a wire kit I got)
some beads
basic clasp

The materials
#28 or smaller gauge wire (I'm not sure what size it was as it no longer labeled in my stash)
lots and lots of seed beads
#1 needles
a clasp and jump ring

Stitch Diva has more info on knitting with wire here.  If you go to my blog  post here you can get a basic tutorial for the blue bracelet.

So sorry for taking so long to get up pic Kpuppy! Thank you so much for everything.

I got two beautiful cloths a garterlac dishcloth which I want to try myself soon. I also got a lovely facecloth out of Egyptian cotton.  Now that I have finally taken the pics I can treat myself with it's softness.

I look of all the goodies and what a pretty package she put together for me:

9  Re: A Very Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sammimag on: June 25, 2007 10:40:46 AM

I so sorry to take so long to get the lovely knit cloths and more that came in the mail from misswendiki.

She sent me 3 cloths, one is not pictured. It was a basket type weave pattern in an purple green ombre colorway.  It's already been put to use washing up dishes.

Here are the other two with a pair of pretty socks.  She also sent some candies which the caramels are all gone.  I'm still working slowly on the others.

This one has lovely drape to it. Tells me that even discloth cotton with an open stitch could make something pretty.

Thanks so much:)

10  Re: I <3 Tea/Coffee/Cocoa Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sammimag on: May 24, 2007 09:18:26 AM
I got around to getting an action shot of me in the great apron pheather made.  I found out  that the pocket is perfect to fit a skein of yarn in. I can walk, knit or crochet to hearts content as long as I don't trip Wink I have a sock on the needles right now but will have to frog it's too big.

a better close up of the beaded wire bookmark - Pheather did you do all that too?

A few days ago I got this surprise from phantomssiren as thank you for helping out with the swap. Which she didn't need to do but it was sure fun to get.

They are coffee flavored gummies with caffeine and everything Smiley The gummies are shaped like coffee beans cups and coffee pot.
