Happy Birthday Shooting Star!!

It is quiet here today.  I just came back from the carnival.  I got hit on by a cute carnie.  He said, "I'm hoping you're at least 18 and single."  I nearly died.  If that weren't great enough I also scored on Welch's juice glasses.  They have a game where you toss dimes and try to get them into cups/glasses and you win whichever cup you can land your dime in.  Well, I didn't want to try so I asked the guy running the game if I could buy some and he sold them to me for 50 cents each.  Yay!!  These were new in the box and I got a bunch of Looney Tunes and some Dragon Tales.  Wee!!

Last night I worked on a few necklaces and Swarovski pendants...including the pink one.  Smiley  I'm waiting for wwrich to open back up so that I can get one of her adorable purses, then I should be ready to open again.

Anyone interested in HK batik or Nightmare before Christmas?  I have some dischargeable black shirts that would be perfect for the Nightmare stuff, with white/grey on a real black background.
Yes!! Nightmare before Christmas sounds fab! Long live The Pumpkin King!

Fabric District was great. I went hog wild picking up different remnants at the $2 a pound place. Now I have tons of small pieces in wild prints. You know, stuff you would never buy off the bolt but are positive you can find something to do with a 15-inch square.

I think I read something a few years ago about how in France it's now becoming quite common for couple's to choose which surname they're going to take when they get married and/or giving girl children her surname and boy children his.
Score!!  Can't wait to see what you end up making with your fabrics!!

Heehee, it seems that every kind of combination is possible nowadays.  I know a guy whose last name was Pustell and his wife's name was Osterman and they changed their names to Ostell.  He definitely improved his name!

Happy Birthday Cookies!!  Sounds like you're going to have an awesome day.  I love Cracker Barrel!!

Ptarmic, that's cool that you have your mom's name.  I am still up in the air as to whether or not to have mine added to Lana's.  I really wanted her to have my name, but somehow it threatens my hubby so now I'm working on the hyphenated name.  If we do she'll have a super long last name: Anderson-Yamashita, so I'm torn.  I also floated the idea of giving her a hybrid name like Yamason or Andershita.  Smiley

Yay!  Happy Birthday Mr. GatsbyGirl!!  ..ok, I'm being silly, but really I am peeved at being called Mrs. John Anderson.

My friend was tickled the other day when she received a letter addressed:  Dr. and Mr. Scott.  Her husband was not amused.
And I still have a Great Mom Award made out to my hubby that Scholastic sent us.  Smiley

10618  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: I can ___ but I can't ___ Swap (Signups 7/25-8/8, Sendouts 9/10) on: August 17, 2007 07:37:17 AM
I finished the big piece of jewelry that my partner wanted.  Yay!!  It's a simple design and the beads were pricey, but it looks pretty great so I'm happy!  I hope she likes it.  I had to modify it a bit.  Now I'm off to tackle some of the other little fun pieces she's wisted.  Wee!!
10619  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: FELT /CROCHETED/KNITTED/SEWN SOFT STUFFED FOOD swap on: August 17, 2007 07:28:45 AM
I think it would depend on what someone wanted...since one really good and detailed piece might be worth 3-4 smaller piece.  Maybe you should have catagories like small, medium, and large per the guidelines and let people choose or you could just decide that this should be a small/medium trade and let swap partners work out if they want to upgrade for a large.  Anyhow you get to make the rules.  Smiley

I have worked up a nice felt breakfast set: eggs, sausages, toast and I could totally see that you might want several sets of these to have enough play food, so I'd have no problem doing that.  Smiley  You can see some of what I've made before in my profile.  I hope some crocheters/knitters join because I'm really looking for that kind of food.

And we need to see pics of Lana in her new outfit!! Smiley She is just a peach of a kid for sure! Talk about wanting to spoil your friends kids...i look for stamps and those darn figurines for Lana all the time. Smiley hahaha
Ack!  You are always spoiling us xladyluckx!  Thank you!!!  I have to try spinning soon so that I can send off a hank to you.  I am so behind on trying to learn how to spin.  I need more hours in the day.

Am I allowed to claim if I have points (6 total I believe) but no shop open?
I think so, since in the next round they want to encourage us to start off with no more than 5 points.  Smiley
