2  scrapbooked travel journal in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by eropunkish on: July 28, 2007 07:48:39 PM
So one of my best friends is currently in Switzerland and Italy (lucky duck), and since it was her first time out of the country and well, ever leaving home, I made her a travel journal before she left.  I scrapbooked the first few pages to remind her of home and where's she's been, and left lots of pages to document where she's going!

It was also my first book binding experience, and its not perfect, but I am very happy with it!
Here's the pages:

cover, her initial on a map of PA! (homestate)

last page before the blank pages, a pull-out!

Hope you enjoy, if anyone wants closer images I have them.

Haha, yes the bag is huge!  I kept waiting to take better pictures, but all I have are ones I took on myself.

Here's one (just so I post one!):

I am also in pajamas.  That don't match.

Can't wait to see everyone's creations!

4  starting photographer - suggestions? [pic heavy] in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by eropunkish on: July 22, 2007 09:48:16 PM
I really am a novice at photography, but I love it and would love to learn more about it.  So until I can sign myself up for a photography class, I was hoping the expert craftsters would put in their two cents!

These were taken at the Mattress Factory, a modern art museum in Pittburgh.  I also altered them with MGI Photosuite, my outdated yet very fun photo program.

This picture is not altered.  Can you believe the light just came in like that?  And no comments on the pose, I am not a dancer!

Sorry!  I know there are a lot, but I would really like some guidance/suggestions.  I am so inspired by this board!

5  60's looking Oscar de la Renta dress into gaudy costume! in Costumes: Completed Projects by eropunkish on: June 13, 2007 03:35:30 PM
So my friends and I are super theater dorks and threw a Tony Award's Party.  Everyone had to dress up as a character from theater, and I chose Tracy Turnblad from Hairspray.  I found this cyan blue shift dress at my community thrift store, and it hurt me a little to mess up a de la Renta...but I bedazzled and 60's-fied til my fingers hurt.

The final result?

(my friend is Moritz from Spring Awakening...which swept the Tony's)

A better pic of the front

And of course, the hair and make-up!!

Sorry for the picture whoring and large size!

6  Re: The Art of Makeup in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by eropunkish on: May 02, 2007 08:56:26 AM
I love make up but don't really wear it that often...so I switch it up all the time when I do.  Here's one of my favorites I've done-

I also really love costume make up!

9  like a virgin! in Halloween Costumes by eropunkish on: November 01, 2006 08:12:29 PM
So, this year I went as Madonna in her "like a virgin" wedding dress that she wore to the MTV awards.

I went off of this picture:

And this is how it turned out:

Close-up of my belt:

I made the belt buckle out of clay and then painted it silver with enamel paint.  Which by the way, is still a tad tacky.  Well, live and learn.

I found the corset at Goodwill, as well as the full slip.  I made a skirt of net with a few layers, as well as another tulle skirt to go over it.  Made some lace fingerless gloves, a gaudy cross necklace from a keychain, pulled on some fishnets, tacky jewelry, and fake eyelashes and called it a day.  Yes, i know the ribbon isn't originally green.  I had to work with what I had as a poor college student.

What do ya think?

10  Betty Boop! (picture happy) in Halloween Costumes by eropunkish on: October 23, 2005 08:36:00 PM
I love Halloween.  My halloween party was this past Saturday, so I already of pics of my costume/make-up.

The corset was found at my school's costume room, hidden among other treasures.  I borrowed it.
The skirt I mde from cheap sparkly walmart fabric, and the shoes were also walmart, then covered in sequins by moi.
PS. i used strands of sequins, not individual ones.  Much easier.

^ my make-up and hair.

My hair is actually longer and red.  I curled it, puled it up, and sprayed it black.  It turned out pretty good!
