1  Re: Clean-Along Its time for a major cleanup and redo- Post Your Own Pics in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by le_coiffeur04 on: February 19, 2009 08:27:08 PM
Hi I thought I would jump in again! I have been talking about cleaning my bedroom for like 2 years. The bottom of my closet was overflowing with my yarn and fabric stash. I had tons of books to get rid of and clothes and crap Everywhere. I just decided one day last month to tackle it. First I took tons of stuff to the consignment store and organized my stash. It was amazing that I had room for all my yarn once it was put away well. Then we had to take the ugly wallpaper down...Scary but had to be done. The redecorating Gods were smiling on me and the wallpaper came off in huge sheets. Then we painted a tan color and followed with a burnt umber colorwash. This was our first time faux finishing so we watched a ton of stuff about it on YouTube. Anyway I was amazed it looked so good for our first try. We hung up the hubby's guitars and I got some cheap posters on line. I found the duvet cover in the back of my closet, I had bought it for 12 bucks at Kohl's! That and the tapestry was the inspiration for the room. I'm just happy its not a mess anymore. We have kept it clean....so far. I am kinda a messy person and I like to make piles of stuff. Thanks for checking it out!!!!

Before!!! The space behind the bed is FULL of clothes, yarn and my long lost crochet books. Stuff would fall on us when we were uhhhh sleeping Wink

This is clean and I almost stopped there but decided it was time to stop talking about redecorating and just do it.

This is the cleanest my room has ever been in my entire life.

Good shot of the colorwash and my hubbys guitars

And lastly the inspiration!

2  Super cute Bunnies!!! Free Pattern link too! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by le_coiffeur04 on: January 27, 2009 11:22:23 AM
I made these bunnies for my kiddos Xmas stockings and I'm just getting around to posting them. This was one of the easiest patterns ever its the Best Bunny pattern from Lion Brand Here is the link http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60480A.html?noImages=
I just used yarn from my stash it was Caron brights or something. I didn't put the face on them and my daughter asked me yesterday when her bunny would be able to see lol. These are the first thing I have crocheted for my kids that they actually play with.  Most of the time I work really hard on something and they throw it down after two mins. They are 2 and 4 years old.

Here they are!

Thanks for looken!

Hey guys I thought I would join in! I love the show Clean House and totally get inspired every time I watch it so this thread is great. We moved into our house about 5 years ago and I couldnt take the bright blue laundry room anymore. It took me FOREVER to get the border off the wall. I swear they super glued it on dry, it totally destroyed the drywall when I removed it. I had to use wallpaper remover and a steamer to help get it off. My hubby came behind me and fixed the drywall. Then we painted every night after the kids went to bed. It took about a week and a half to get it finished. We took the shelf/ clothes rack down and I actually used the closets in our bedrooms now insted of throwing it all in the laundry room. I hated doing the laundry before because it was such a mess in there. I am inspired to keep the laundry room clean now because it looks so much better in there. I bought two curtains at walmart and did a recon on the back door curtain by taking the swag part of the curtain apart and hemming it up a little shorter.  ok on to the pics!

Before....oh yeah its BAD

The ulgy border

4  Dreadlock Yarn Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by le_coiffeur04 on: January 06, 2009 03:17:30 PM
My mom bought this yarn and its SO cool. Its fat in some places and skinny in others and reminded her of dreadlocks. I did a ton of swatches to try and find the right pattern for it. Most of the stitches I tryed were too stiff. The stitch I ended up using was the lovers knot stitch. It drapes and flows really nice. Thanks for looking!

5  Princess Castle Cake....pic heavy in Dessert by le_coiffeur04 on: December 28, 2008 06:08:52 PM
I made this cake for my daughters 4Th birthday. The turrets and princesses are from a kit I got off eBay. It took the hubby and I HOURS to make it. I was stressing hard core on the drive to the party I would die if it broke apart but it made the journey just fine. We ended up using 3 cake mixes and 4 recipes of buttercream icing. Oh and we totally cheated and used premade sugar roses. No matter how hard I try I just cant make my roses look good. I also didn't cover the cardboard cake boards with foil so we had a damp spot all around the cake from the oil in the icing I guess. That's why I put that edible glitter all around it. It was alot of work but totally worth it to see her face.

6  Re: Wrist Warmers / Fingerless Gloves Crochet-a-long in Crochetalongs by le_coiffeur04 on: December 28, 2008 04:28:48 PM
Thanks for the pattern! It was so much fun to amaze my non-crafty in-laws by whipping these gloves up in three hours during the Xmas weekend. I made them for my 11 year old niece Stormy. She sat next to me and I taught her how to crochet. By the end of the weekend she had it down. It was so addicting that James our 12 yr old newphew had to give it a try also.

Thanks again these were fun and easy!

7  Slipknot and Sparrow Twirl Skirt Tshirt recon in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by le_coiffeur04 on: May 06, 2008 08:43:25 AM
I made these skirts with the pattern from the Generation T book. I stole my husbands holey slipknot shirt and dug thru the closet and found a matching dark red shirt.  I bought the green and white shirts for the other one so I had a nice new looking skirt for work. I used the sparrow from sublime stitchery to give it some funk. I totally love these and I want one for everyday. It is the most comfortable skirt I have ever had. I am headed off to the thrift store now to find more yummy shirts to cut up. I am gonna try to make a mini one for my 3 year old Mia. Thanks for looking guys!!!!

10  Nautical Quilt and Anchor applique pillows!! in Quilting: Completed Projects by le_coiffeur04 on: June 28, 2007 11:35:46 AM
I made this set for my baby Owen. His room is done in pirates and we kinda went with Ahoy! Its a Boy! stuff for his baby shower. It was my second real quilt I have made and the first time doing applique. Its the same anchor as on the fabric. I used a copy machine and enlarged a piece of the fabric. I just tied it when I finished the top. I could not afford to have it long arm quilted and I'm antsy and wanted it done right away. Thanks for looking!

The whole set!
