1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 6 Pack ring for pot pad on: November 08, 2009 05:19:49 PM
single crochet around ring 30-40 (cover plastic ring)
2 single crochet in each around
3 red and 3 black finished
make chain 30-40 white
turn and single crochet in each
weaver white in and out of each ring
form a circle and attach each end of white and tie off
join by connecting one red and one black ring with white then crochet in next 10 to 15 stitches  (this pic the red)
all the way around, join chain 3 and slip stitch in next space
You may have to do everyone other one if you do not want it ruffled
join end tie off and sew all threads

you have your first pot pad
I hope everyone can understand the pictures. I did it in 3 colors to show each step.  It will depend on the hook and thread to all your stitch counts....You may have to play with it a little. As you can see two different thread one regular one baby weigh.
Basically you do 30-40 single crochets around each ring.
Then the next round you will put to 2 single crochet in each stitch.
Tie off to finish row.
You sew all thread in then place them one on top of the other.

Next you chain 35-45.
Turn and single crochet across.
Tie off to finish row.
Weaver your row in and out of the rings.
Then form circle.
Tie off and sew all threads.
Mash down the center for ring to lay flat.

Next row.
Pick up red ring and black ring crochet single together.
Single crochet in the next 10-15 depending on how you want it to look.
Pick up in the next red and black ring crochet single together.
Continue unit you finish, tie off and sew all threads.

Last row
chain 3 and slip stitch in next space continue until around.  Tie off and sew thread.

If you have any problems please ask away.  I did mine in half doubles cause I like the way it looks.  But you can do what you would like experiment.  Post your work. Post pictures if you have question.

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / A LITTLE SKELETON FOR YOU on: October 26, 2009 03:15:31 PM
Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share my little project with all of you.  I made this for a fellow crafter and he is so cute.  It really was hard to part with him.  His arms and legs are normally stuffed with candy pieces, but since I am mailing him I did not want to take chances of him getting messed up.  He is stuff with batting.

You can put candy or even the battery operated tee lights.
Thanks for looking
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / MEDICINE bottle pincushion and pin holder on: August 11, 2009 10:57:26 AM
Hello Everyone,

I just want to share this with you and all comments are welcomed.  I am not sure it is in the right place.

I have been making these for my DD and her swaps.

The circle is the yoyo glued into the top and the other piece is made to wrap the bottle.  You can make them out of felt and do decorative stitching.

These where easy to make the paisley fabric is for the next size up in medicine bottles (Walgreen's).  Their bottle has the reverse top.  Now I am trying to work out my pattern for the bottle that are child proof (more like adult proof, I can't hardly get into them...LOL).  I am at a stand still until I get more medicine bottles.... or find a different route to take.

Tutorial is:
1)  Cut 1 - the circle the size you feel fits your bottle (mine 3 inches).

2)  Cut 2 -  Bottle wrap you measure around your bottle and add 1/4 on each end to turn it. (mine is 4 1/4 inches so cut 5 inches).  You can always shorten to fit.

Then you sew around your bottle so it should slide up and down.  Glue your yoyo in place and you are done.  Optional:  you can use felt and embellish anyway you want with stitches beads, the list is long.

If you have any questions please PM, I will gladly try to answer.

These are made out of felt; poka dot and hand stitching with beads.

These one I found a button all most like golf ball ... have finish Hole In One....
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Lord of the Rings CLOAK on: August 10, 2009 11:45:11 AM
I can now post my pictures of the cloak I made Stuckmachinic as her angel, she has finally received.

I used this pattern with my own version of what I wanted for Stuckmachinic...her two fav characters where Gandal and Pippin so I made a cross between the two.

This is the front view.

This is the back view.

This is the side view where you can see the front is short and the back is longer.

This is close up of the catch to hold closed....made out of shrinky dink.

Thank you of looking. Panda

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Stuffie Sewing Surprise Craft-a-long (Toy Society Softie ) on: August 06, 2009 04:45:27 AM

Hi Everyone,

I did it last night late searching for new craft ideas and swapping.  When I came across this web site for swaps and in the site I found this really neat idea someone came up with Toy Society Softies.     http://thetoysociety.blogspot.com  Needless to say I was so surprise at the people sharing their talent with others and the joy it brought.  Not just here in the USA but all over.  Yes I did join this swap and want to share it with all of you.

I have put it in a craft-a-long so everyone can post their shared softie.  I am posting this picture of the Mini Poppet which I made for a swap here to draw attention.  This is not what I am putting out there.  Mine is due by the 1st of Sept.

Again I hope everyone enjoys checking it out.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Custom and DC# file box on: May 13, 2009 05:05:23 PM
I had a brain fart today....sitting going there all my numbers, when I came up with a file box and old DC#.  So I decoupage the file box and box cutter with old DC numbers.  Then I added the receipts (DC#, custom forms and any other forms I thought I might need), pens, marker, index card and address labels.   I still have to add some small scissors when I can find a green pair.  Now I am ready for those late nights finishing up my swap for the next morning Post Office run.

Thank you for looking.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / By Request CROCHET CHRISTMAS CARD ORNAMENT on: July 20, 2008 09:07:12 PM
Hello Everyone, I received a request for my version of crocheted Christmas card ornaments.

Find card of your choice and then draw the shape you wish to have.

You can use the inside or back of card for the reverse side cut same shape.

Here I am using small note book for guide with holes to punch, you can use tracker feed paper too.

I have marked all my hole with pencil, then with hole punch go around the card.  Most of the time it comes out even you will have to use your judgement on hole placement.  That is why I use pencil to mark and check before punching hole. (hole punch is next size down from regular hole punch)

This is the first card posted finished and the new one.

Here I used a 2 single crochets in each hole around the card.  You may have to adjust to fit your holesor your card.

Single crochet around your card.

When you reach the end (last hole), you will chain 20 and then join round. (this gives a way to hang your card) This if you only want one round.

The back of the card.

Changing the colors.  Again this is my version use what is comfortable to you.  This is round 2.

You do 3 double crochets in center of single crochet in first hole, chain 20 for hanger, 3 double crochets in same as the first 3 double crochets (makes 1 shell).  Then single crochet in the center of next 2 singles(next hole).  Make shell stitch again but this time with only 3 chain. (shell 3 double crochets, chain 3, 3 double crochets).

Once around finish off and sew in all threads.

You are done.  As you can see you can make just about any shape or use any card.

I hope you can understand the instructions if not PM me and I will try to help you out.  If anyone see better way to make this easier please feel free to post your idea to help.  I am a better teacher showing then writting.  Enjoy and recycle those cards.
