11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / When two girls show up in the same outfit at a party... on: November 24, 2006 05:52:54 AM
...it usually is a disaster. But there's nothing wrong, when one of the girls is 2 and the other 15 times older Wink

Our Thanksgiving outfits: I came up with and drew the patterns and this was my first apparel project. I am surprised these things actually fit. My skirt [corduroy] is actually a little too big, that's why you see me piling a plate, hahaha. The tops are made from a pale pink knit fabric.

Here are the action pics Smiley in 2 different lights.

Thanks for looking!!!

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / My Dad - no hobbies, no needs - help! on: November 04, 2006 10:37:12 AM
Yep, it's really haard to come up with an idea for my Dad - he doesn't really have hobbies except playing chess on the Internet and reading books by authors like John Grisham and Dan Brown. Doesn't smoke, drink [occasional beer], play games, listen to music. Because of his job he travels a lot but any travel-related gifts have been already given to him in the previous years [cosmetics bag, etui for glasses etc.]

I am really clueless this year. Maybe knit him a scarf since winters are really cold where he lives? [Poland] BTW he is a high government official so he always wears a suit and a tie [yep, tie as a gift -> last year's birthday!!!]. I can sew, knit and crochet, I also have very limited funds. My sister is getting a cell phone cozy, my Mom - a knitted and lined purse but what should I make for him? He of course says "Nothing..." ugh!!! HELP!! I need to send the package soon!!!

14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / diaper cake for a baby girl on: August 09, 2006 09:42:10 AM
First I got some relaxing cosmetics for the new Mommy [soothing bath, body lotion] and then wrapped them with diapers. The second layer is a washing cloth and more diapers. Decorations - pink q-tips and little matching hair adornments [the baby is veyr hairy]  Grin

Please tell me what you think!

15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Vintage floral fabric purse w. wooden handles for a gift exchange on: May 03, 2006 06:48:50 AM
This is a purse [still missing snap, I will put it in later] for a gift exchange for my Moms Club [Mother's Day Dinner, gifts up to 10$]. Since it was cheap to make [fabric from my Mom, lining worth about 50c, craft sticks from JoAnn [6pack for .99] it is probably worth something like 10$, so there you go!

Thank you for looking and any comments.

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / "naturally sweetened" canvas hobo bag on: April 16, 2006 07:04:17 PM
I got this huuuge square promo canvas tote with a company's logo on it and under it was "naturally sweetened" which I kept on the bag. The button was basically yarn crocheted around 1/2 of a champagne cork Wink and the lining made from a matching fat quarter I had in my closet.

So this is the outcome, enjoy. I am almost sad this is going to a friend of mine, because it's a sturdy, waterproof bag [the canvas was insulated from the inside]. The bag somehow only looks nice when full so my wallet and sunglasses are on the pic as well.

17  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Purse w. Leather Handles on: March 21, 2006 08:12:04 PM
I actually posted it for the bag challenge on the purse board as 'nifty thrifty', because I used yarn from a thrift store and handles on sale and spent total less than $5. Enjoy! Grin
