91  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: 8 recons. image heavy. on: July 28, 2006 10:55:31 PM
So talented! Any suggestions on how to recreate the grey one?

thanks! if you're talking about the wrapover one.. i can't remember what tutorial i used but it was similar to this i actualy used some knit tshirt fabric rather than a tshirt. basically i cut a strip a bit shorter [since the fabric's stretchy] than the circumfrence of the waist/hip area where i wanted it to sit and folded it in half for the bottom band and 2 of the triangle shaped pieces and the back piece [i used another shirt as a guide] and i'm not sure how i figured out the sleeves but i somehow managed to get the right shape. i guess it'd be easier to follow that tutorial!!

i made that shirt a while ago so i don't quite remember what i did, but i hope i helped/answered your question

here's a tote i made. the anchor stencil didnt turn out quite like i wanted it to so i splattered some white paint on it for fun and sewed it up anyways.

before washing

after washing i forgot to heat set it and the paint was a bit thick so it peeled off. it's alsoa  bit wrinkly cause i haven't irone it yet. the picture looks a bit weird..

inside..i guess it's reversible?

-------------------------

so i wanted a smaller wallet..

front..there's an elastic strap..

back

inside.. 2 credit card pockets and one for my id card..

money pocket

---------------------

this one i made with pfeffermint_ish's tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16741222.0 but i made it bigger..it was practice for the actual one i wanted to make

--------------------

and lastly this is the actual one i wanted to make..but i haven't sewed on the trim/straps (they're just pinned, and i'm going to make the straps longer) cause i'm not sure if i'm happy w/ the yellow.. the lining is already that yellow so i'm not sure if i'm just going to stick w/ it or take it out. any color suggestions?

thanks for looking  Smiley

question: What kind of stitch did you use for the appliques and did you use any type of fusible interfacing?

Thanks! They both look awesome!

i use heat n bond and then just hand stitched around it to reinforce it.
