I got some new jewelry listed on Craftster! I made them last night while watching "Sense & Sensibility."

Day of the Dead Skull Necklace

Delicate Lava Necklace

Bold Acrylic Red Drop Earrings

I want your honest opinion on this: My mom thinks it's too much, but I think it's funky enough that the right person can pull it off:

22  Pirate and Lava Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by titancia on: July 31, 2006 07:13:20 PM

This necklace is for my sister's coworkers birthday on the 13th. I'm so excited to give it to her! She thought the skull charm was really nifty last time she came over so I was determined to make her something with it, and here's what came out!

The chain is sterling silver and the beads are made of genuine lava.

23  Wizard of Oz Toto Scrapbook Pages Completed! in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by titancia on: July 31, 2006 06:57:13 PM
I finally completed the Toto scrapbook pages I have been working on! This was quite a feat for me since it was my first scrapbook page, plus I had to make it 17 times! (My mom's Wizard of Oz group did a scrapbook swap...Don't ask how I got involved in actually making them instead of her! lol!)

The little emerald city is kept shut by a thread wrapped around the shoe button (I'm thinking of making buttons or earrings in that style because they're so cute!)

Underneath is a little photo of Toto, the little stuffed dog their group passes around. The list is of all the places Toto has "been."

Here is a quick snapshot of all the pages (sorry it's a bit blurry...I'd have retaken it but they're all packed up to be mailed out now)

My sister and I dressed up a tad... We're shy, so we took the slightly subtle approach:

My with my sister's dog, Clover. I got this adorable top from Torrid about a year ago and thought it worked.

This is a closeup so you can see my earrings. I made them with blue skulls (because it's my favorite color, and really, I was going to wear a Pirates shirt I got from Hot Topic, but spilled dinner down the front of it, of course!) and gold platsic swords. I included a closeup... It's grainy, so I'll have to get a clearer one later.
I also wore the Pirates Coin necklace I got from Claires, but I hadn't changed out of my Titanic coal cross yet.

My sister and her dog... I told Val she ended up taking the "wench" approach with that shirt. Tongue

A close up of her earrings (grey skulls & gold swords) and her Pirates coin necklace.

My mom wore sword earrings I added glass Czech beads to, as well as her Pirates necklace, but I didn't get a photo of that.

I have some errands to run, but before I do I wanted to get that banner posted for you, sweets:

sweets4ever--I agree. And your banner is cute! I like how you used her items as a sort of cap on the ends. You did a great job!

The, er, only change I would make is to put an edging on it. Maybe it's just me, but I always like just a small border around the image. It just looks a tad more finished to me. Hope you don't mind me altering it. Smiley

Make sure you're using stock images & not copyrighted or somefin someone is gonna scream at ya for.  I dunno where titancia gets her images, it's just a general thought I always warn about.  Smiley

I'm sorry, I DID use copyrighted images since I just threw them together... Mostly I use photos I've taken or a graphic I've made (like the banner I made for sweetjaime's shop...I handdrew that on the computer) but I thought I'd be able to find some stock photos that were generally the same, but I couldn't. Here's what I came up with using stock photos whenI had a bit more time:

Using these images:

I tried coloring this so it would look less pasta-ish...I couldn't find any with no pasta.

This might be a good shot though:

I'm thinking if you like the stack of them that much, I could just take a photo of all the clays spread out next time I go to Micheals?

**ETA I know that you aren't going to use the banner I made, I just wanted to see if I could recreate it with stock photos. Obviously it didn't turn out too well.

Eek! I'm so sorry... I forgot to throw that banner together to show you.

I like yours, but I'm thinking it might be a bit busy? I would go with the busy background and a solid font or a solid background and a busy font. It's a bit more eyecatching that way and your store name (and the image if you put them on either side) pop out rather than the eye trying to take in the entire banner. Does that make sense?
