11  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / ikea lekaryd led table lamp on: August 09, 2013 10:08:53 PM

12  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / I hate my bedroom on: August 08, 2013 01:22:58 PM
I hate my bedroom!! I have no clue where anything should go in this weird little space! I also hate the colors! I have a lot of calming earth tones but its just not doing it for me anymore. I like the bed and dresser (very expensive). Im thinking of trying to hang some sort of curtains around the bed. Any ideas of what to do with the crappy yellow curtains? They serve the purpose of hidding the light, which is what I need due to sleeping hours.  I am toatally a diy-er so any project works. Also any ideas for a simple no sew bed skirt? My beds taller than most (for storage purposes)
shows the bed when it was lower and the nightstands. THe curtains are hung with wire (due to rental restrictions and I love the lamp
As you can see this corner displays alot of my tresures and books. I love that blue green color. I am not allowed to paint.

This is the layout of the room showing you all my whole problem! the windows and the baseboard heaters are my main problem. I cant  have the bed by a window in the winter because its too cold.  Im hoping to figure out a layout I can leave for awile!
13  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Folding a matress.... AND making it stay on: July 04, 2013 11:33:27 PM
Ok so I have a tiny ass guest bedroom. Its kinda a drop zone for extra fuinture (I love to swap out peices often). Ok so onto my problem... I have a full sized matress that needs to be folded into a couch for my guest room. I fold it and it springs back, I fold it again, it springs back.... You get the idea? I folded it and laid on it (i'm like 120 pounds)and it sorta stayed. Any ideas on how to get it to fold but in such a way that I can pop it back out for a guest to sleep on? (even though its kinda rare anyone tries to visit... constant state of work)
14  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / typewriter table to bar? on: May 19, 2013 08:42:54 PM
I have a very vintage Typewriter Table  that was rescued from my moms school. Its currently ugly grey. I intend to put a tray on the bottom but what should I paint it? I have a paris theme in my kitchen, and this table will be a bar cart that goes between there and my my black and burgendy living room. I was thinking black and pink mabey? Any ideas?
15  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How to design around BURGENDY! on: April 20, 2013 03:28:00 PM
Ok I have a huge patio window. I was gifted a bunch of burgendy curtains. I was also gifted a couch cover in the same color (these were all family left overs). I have both in my living room and its begining to feel like icky! I want a change! I think the room needs some new paint on my big dresser and some funiture rearangment. On one wall I have a large tv on a cart, its flanked by two tall bookcases with a shelf on top (both have black sides but one has a white front and cant be spray painted). I have a futon for a chouch, a black mod endtable, a speaker stand (its grey and my other end table) along the other long wall. On the short wall that come off the kitchen (making up the 3rd wall) has a large dresser that holds board games. Its a pretty 60's style peice thats all black with tropical (dark) blue drawers. Along the patio wall sits the large patio door, and the heat registers. I also have a cat box wedged in the corner of this wall and the cats junk. In front of the patio door I have a plant stand and my favorite black chair. Any ideas? Pictures soon!
16  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / MAPS!! Tons of maps! on: August 15, 2012 06:59:27 PM
I got  map-age! LOL! My boss was going to toss out a box of old maps but alas, I couldnt let them die! I want to do something with them but Im not sure what! I am planning on moving out soon and was thinking maybe something  for living room art? I am a photographer (which means I have a TON of photos). I was also thinking of trying to trade them for French maps (I got a French caf theme in my kitchen)

I have the fallowing:
Large paper:
Kansas, Missouri ,New England, Lakes region New Hampshire, New England, Official new England innkeepers map, Massachusetts, Lake superior, Marinette/ Menominee map, Cape cod, Minnesota highway map, A HUGE Louisiana map (with aswome artwork)

Smaller maps that are like coated:
Crivitz, Marinette, Green bay (All cities in Wisconsin), small tourism map Minnesota, waterfalls of Marinette
17  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / HELP! what do I do with this horible room? on: August 15, 2012 05:34:48 PM

This is the wall crossed from the bed. The entertainment center holds my books, cds, wine bottles, DVDs, and video games. The second tv unfortunately is a necessity so I can watch DVDs (my player is incompatible with my newer tv)

This is the wall next to the door. The huge dresser works great to hold all my clothes. With the door open (which it usually is) you dont see all the clothes and message boards hanging there.

The bed does fold up to a futon (and is usually made),  There is not junk on the floor most of the time and a small table that goes next to the black chair (aka my desk)

I dont like this room at all right now. I want to keep the colors (turquoise, brown, black, and cranberry) but am willing to repaint stuff. Everything serves a purpose, if not two! I am intending to move out hopefully by Christmas so I dont want to do anything major. Any ideas on how to fix my little dump? the quilt is solid black and could use some sprucing.
18  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Vintage looking flowers? Yea! free! on: August 15, 2012 03:40:55 PM
I had a bunch a zip tie leftovers (only used the zipper part) so I had these 4 inch parts left over. It seemed like such a waste to toss them so I grabbed some tape, taped them then well....

Totally dosent do them justice! they just shimmer so bright when ever the lights are on. Took me less than a hour (not including dry time) to make them! Easy and fun!
19  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Kitchen table? on: August 09, 2012 10:10:39 PM
so I got a freebie table from my mom that was scratched and ugly. In all my young college glory I painted it black with a ugly blue striped box in the middle Roll Eyes So its time to move out again after moving home and I CANT STAND this thing anymore. I need a new idea. I dont want to leave it plain black. I plan to sand it and repaint the base color black (matches the chairs). The kitchen is a coffee cafe type thing. Any ideas?
20  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / cross stich help? on: June 07, 2012 07:42:33 PM
So I dont do cross stich but my boss had a very cool duck one that was half done. She gave it to me.... I want to finish it for my grandma for Christmas. So I have a color guide and  stich count. Whats the stich count mean? Also what does 1 stand and two stands mean? My kit came with all the thread stuff and a needle so im set there. Is there anything special I should know before I start?
