11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Simple shoulder bag - really new crocheter! on: June 05, 2008 04:49:45 AM
You could always get together with me and I can show you how to do crochet in the round.  Grin

Anyway, it looks awesome! Most people, starting out, have problems with squares/rectangles due to tension problems and missing stitches, but your tension looks perfect already. Impressive. Smiley

Just found this thread. I'm learning to use a chainsaw on Sunday but would enjoy a meet-up some other time. Have fun and plan another one!

Best. Excuse. Ever.

He's only 15?! And already that good? You'd better be ready for the first year he goes and works at a ren faire or similar- he's going to have women in bustiers ALL over him! That's absolutely amazing!

Hmmm, no promises from my end... the 17th is graduation and the 19th is my bachelorette party, so I'll try to make it but I might be totally fried. Also my dad gets in from CO on the 17th so he might want to do some pre-wedding costco shopping (plates and the like) on the 18th.

That is seriously beautiful. I am kind of in awe right now.

That is so amazing! You must be sooo sick of squares from cutting the foam. I know I would be. Amazing idea, and it looks really well put together, too!

Wow. Seriously. That is gorgeous, amazing, and brilliant.

I want one.

I have been on Craftster for over a year and never even knew about this, but lo and behold, I find it and can post just after my niece! Totally by accident! I am a lot older than most of you (as you might have figured out) but that just means I've had a chance to craft for a lotta years. I sew (guess who taught littlebisket!), quilt,  embroider, and do lots of papercrafts, especially cardmaking. I've tried many other things over the years, but those are the ones I enjoy most. I live in St. Paul.

*points up* that's my mom. She's where I got most of my craftiness.  Cheesy

Oh my god, a Malabrigo Clapotis? That must be HEAVEN. I love the laptop bag too.

Not just any Malabrigo- it's the silky merino, it just kills me how soft it is. I can't even compare it to anything. Except possibly non-greasy butter. AMAZING.

I have been knitting up a veritable storm lately! Here's a few things I haven't posted here yet.

I posted this before, but it wasn't complete in those photos. It's a yoga mat bag, made for my sister last Christmas out of Knit Picks Main Line. It's the Namaste pattern from Knitty.

Next is a felted laptop case that I made for my friend/coworker Nicole. She requested a blue case with Zelda heart containers, so that is what I made. It's based on the Detlef-13 pattern and is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes.

This is my wedding clapotis, knit out of Malabrigo Silky Merino aka the best yarn ever. I LOVES IT.

Next is a set of booties and a hat that I made for the nephew of a friend of mine. The booties are the Baby Booties pattern by Carole Barenys, and the hat is from the Peapod Baby Set. I made both in Rowan RYC Cashcotton.

These are socks that I made for my mom for mother's day. She knows she's getting them because I was worried that the yarn was pretty rough, but she says it'll be fine. The pattern is River Rapids and the yarn is Trekking Pro Natura. No photos on her yet, since it isn't mother's day yet. Tongue

Finally one I just finished today- A hat requested by my lovely fiance, Cory. It's Koolhaas by Jared Flood and the yarn is Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool. I cast on 128 on 6's since the yarn is DK weight, and switched to 8's after the ribbing. It worked great. And I promise he loves it, I insisted on snapping photos while he was watching a movie.

Thanks for looking!
