oh thanks you guys! it was so nice to read your lovely comments!

Very nice, what is the lighter yarn? I love the tweedy look of it Smiley

unfortunately, this is not a yarn that is very readily available. it's called kaiapoi glen mist, i picked it up at an op shop (thats southern hemisphere for thrift store) in a small town in new zealand. i think it was produced in the sixties, or maybe earlier. the package has cute instructions on it like, wash both parts of the twinset together, and please wash with lux flakes.

i will definitely post a pattern once i finish wrestling with this pirate essay so look back here in a week or so!

here are a pair of wrist warmers i knit up last week.

named in honour of the dashing long john silvers unseen wife they are very simply constructed in garter stitch rib and op shopped yarn. more photos on my blog http://gunnerjournal.wordpress.com/2008/04/09/mrs-silver/

they were really easy to make, and really quick despite the fine (ish) gauge. if anyone is interested i would be happy to write the pattern up.

thanks! it is rowan felted tweed, i forget the colour number, but the name is watery.  i found the pattern after i saw the yarn which never ever happens, i just LOVED this colour, it basically jumped off the shelf, into my bag and reached deep into my wallet.

i could knit only in tweed i think.
