1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Favorite Animal Swap Gallery! on: August 03, 2007 06:31:39 AM
I'm going to post what I sent to baby-bumblebee due to camera issues on her end.

First off are two stuffed kitties made with felt:

Next up, a drop spindle that I made and painted.  I also sent a bunch of different colored wool to go with it.

A penguin bag:

Lastly, a turtle hat (knit with felt patches sewn on to mimic a turtle shell)

<3 Anne

I was very very spoiled!

I love everything. The hat fits perfect and is just so cute and soft. The pic does not show how pretty the green is.

The bag is so pretty and pro looking. I love it!

The kitties were stolen by my 6 yr old and 3 yr old and I have as of yet been able to pry them from their little hands. They even sleep with them at night. Smiley

The roving is amazing! I have tried the drop spindle but I think I am all thumbs when it comes to it. But I am getting a bit better. My real live cat things it is a toy and I have to try it when she is not around otherwise she tries to eat the roving.

sorry it looks like the Pug notebook got wet and smeared. I swear it was not like that when it was shipped. Sad It has been so rainy here, we needed it but dang I ddi not know it would ruin the notebook. Sad

I love tryin to come up with pug items. I was a bit tricky but it was fun. I had the most fun trying to make the key chains and stitich markers. You should have seen the first few I made. I assure you they looked nothing like a pug. For the matter they really looked nothing like any animal I have seen. Smiley

Glad you liked everything I was a bit wroried.

5  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Kurt Halsey Angel Onesie on: July 23, 2007 08:31:14 AM
Love it! As with your other onsies I am in love. Smiley

I am new to embroidery and have bought two of the Sublime books (one has not shown up yet the Stitch-It  book). I am going to town on my oldest school uniforms. I am all for the uniform but want her to at least have a little bit of individuality. So I am embroidering on her pants and skirts, I want to try my hand on her T-shirts as well as her little brother and sister's onsies. What sort of stabilizer did you use? Does it have to be stronger because of the felt? Just wondering. Smiley

Thanks for sharing your pics I drool over them every time.  Shocked

WOW. That is so cool. I also love the colors! You did a GREAT job. I am wanting to emb on t-shirts but am scared.  Shocked

So when you say not to rip too much out, are you talking about the stitches? I am lost, sorry I know once you post the answer I will be slapping myself. Or are you talking about the stablizer? I have as of yet to use stabizer for anything. I did buy some but I think it is the wash away kind, but I could be wrong. ekkkk

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Lounge Lizard on: July 21, 2007 06:46:42 PM
Ok, I don't know how to catch them - I've only lived in Florida for 5 years Wink I haven't really had the urge to catch any, unlike my cat. We call him The Great Siamese Lizard Hunter of Tampa Bay.

As for the tail . . . it probably fell off. If you ever try to catch a lizard, the tails sometimes fall off. Some sort of defense mechanism I suppose . . . and then the tail continues to wiggle around for a while all on its own. It was quite disturbing the first time I saw it, even more so after my cat ate the STILL MOVING tail.  Shocked

But I don't want to talk about it, let's just pretend that never happened.

Moving on!

I live in Tampa FL too! We must have the half cousin of your kitty. She will sit for hours and watch the lizards on the back patio. She has even caught a few. Once there was one in the house. She beat him up a bit before i knew he was in here. I caught him and let him free, but the poor dear was found dead in the same plant I let him free in. I guess I was not able to help him in time. Sad I was so sad for him. I also find them all over dead. Poor little things. I have a few on the patio that I have named. Smiley Love them. We even caught a tiny tiny baby one the other day and put her in  the patio.

I like that you were able to find a cool use for a dead lizard. It looks cool but being the girlie girl I am I just could not but it around my neck. ekkkkkkk Smiley

But I really do like it. Smiley
