18591  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Keep Me Warm Swap (signups CLOSED sendouts extended to 2/12/10) on: February 07, 2011 07:28:45 AM
I am so glad that you extended the deadline!  We just got ice but it was enough to down some of my trees and wires--no internet for a couple of day was hell! Cheesy

I did bring all of my goodies in to work today to ship, so I will ship the absolutely positively have to be shipped items today...mostly the edible/drinkable stuff! Smiley

This will give me a chance to take better pictures of the wearables...thanks!

thank you!  it was a free pattern and so easy! I used four different skeins of Lion Brand Amazing Yarn, which was on sale!

It is a great beginner project that just looks complicated! Cheesy

what a great use of fat quarters, though---I love making kanzashi pins...you can attach them to anything! Cheesy

holy mackeral!  I did not have internet access this weekend to some ice taking down some trees and some wires! grrr!  You guys have been busy!  I just recorded all of the entries for the challenge--and there were a lot of them!

Also, welcome new members!  I loved reading your lists cadaverxstitch and  h_pets360!

The quilts are all wonderful!

Aislynn--I am also making the scarf with the crochet ruffles!  I absolutely love the Tiger EYes!  Going to snag that pattern as well!

Meleriffic--I am halfway done with my Luna scarf using a stash of pale grey sportweight yarn that I have had forever (I know because it was 97 cents! Cheesy)...

omg--I nearly died laughing reading "dog cozy", graced!  I am counting that in the challenge because you did it for the poor little dog! Cheesy

vampedangel14--the fabric you are using for the kanzashi is to die for!  Where did you get it?  I love the colors!

shan-e-bear--your baby projects are terrific!  I just love the bear set!  did you post where you got the pattern for that?

sheepblue--your afghan was a labor of love and turned out HUGE and colorful!

sorbetsurprise--wow wow in that dress!  Makes me dream of spring!

Here is the ruffled scarf I made...working on another one since I love this simple pattern!

Sheepblue!!  You did it!  It looks so great (and huge!)...bonus that it contains yarns from some of your craftster buddies!

qazicat--what a cute idea to make needlebooks out of your yummy felt biscuits!

guadiknight--the headband is so lovely...I am definitely going to have to try entralac this year!

Love the "Bazinga" hoop! Your partner will be happy to receive from your "stash"!  Great stuff!

I love the blue and white tree!!

And, the skully bowed girl!

I think I just realized that my style is for the simple designs, but I really like all of the hoops when I see them all together!

Gorgeous work!

Do we get to see this ruffled scarf? Or are you just teasing us?

I am wearing it now...I took pics but I forgot to load onto the picture hosting...I promise I will post pics this weekend! Cheesy

It was a simple crochet pattern from Lion Brand---I printed out the pattern a few years ago...I now wish I had made it sooner! Cheesy

edited to add:  I just tried looking up the pattern and it is no longer available!  But, they do have other ones that are exactly the same as what I did! Just different yarn! Cheesy

Picture from the Lion Brand site so you don't have to register and be a member.  If you are a member, here is the pattern:

18598  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 11 Quilts in 2011 Quilt Along on: February 04, 2011 11:20:57 AM
Waggonswest--I love using basting spray...I was worried at first because the only place I could spray was in my living room on the carpet...but, if you stay away from the edges, no spray gets on the carpet!  I have been doing this for years, and I still have the same carpet! Cheesy

I think a lot of people think it is going to gum up the needle...I have not had that problem, but then again, I like sharp needles so I change them after every quilt...

I think the challenge will motivate me to get a quilt done in February and maybe even catch up for January! Cheesy

Your beautiful partner will love that necklace, meleriffic!

bluepaisan--what an interesting piece for your "partner's" living room!  I am now inspired to use up some puzzles that I am tired of...I like how you framed the canvas with the pieces...
