Such a tremendous project!

You put a lot of detail into your sweater...and a lot of work!

I love that it has sort of a bohemian look...

Mr. Armstrong was one reason I went to Purdue...they were promoting women to go into traditionally male areas, such as engineering, aerospace, etc.  I see that you are also from Indiana, so it is nice that you did such a tribute to him!

Fabulous...a work of textile art!

Glad you reminded me about the ground and sky for pearlipie!

I love those tiny houses but I bet they are a lot of work! Cheesy
13264  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Beginning Sewing: Easy to Sew Top on: November 15, 2012 12:55:44 PM
You did fabulous!  It is cute and versatile...but most importantly, it will be one of a kind! Good job!!

I use a woven tricot iron-on fusible web for most of my sewing...it seems to adapt to each fabric..

One thing you might want to try with gathering if you did not already do this:  using the longest stitch your machine has, make TWO rows of gathers about 1/4 inch apart...leave about 4 inches of thread at both ends...I tie the threads at one end together, stick a pin in your garment, and then wrap that end around the pin to hold it...pull the other two threads to gather...it will help you gather more evenly...

Also, if you loosen your upper tension, you will notice that the bobbin thread sort of looks like a straight line on the underside...pull on the bobbin threads and it will be much easier and the threads won't break...

I agree with everything else lil_abi said...and wish you many many years of learning, getting experience, and making lovely things!

Can't wait to see your next "lesson"!

Those badges are wonderful...I know they take a lot of work...I received one of yours and the details and precision sewing are great!!!  Maybe you can use time to count as a project...like 1/2=1 project?  Or 25 badges?

congrats indigo_roses!  I think you and that1girl have both gone PAST 100! Cheesy

We need to have a sock knitting get together, kiddo...I love the orange socks!

Also wonderful to see holiday items: cards, tags, gifts...fabu work everyone!

13268  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Round loom knitting on: November 15, 2012 10:49:09 AM
wow--I was looking at those looms for a Christmas gift to myself...I love knitting socks but I can't make them fast enough for friends and family that want them! Cheesy

They look good!  Is the toe part gathered?  Does it start you at the top or the toe...?  I was thinking that maybe I could do a combo of loom and DPN needles...cheat a bit! Cheesy

Love the colors!

They look pretty great to me!  What sock pattern did you use?  Is the yarn dk weight?  They look so comfy and warm!

hahaha--I shipped out to the Canadian gals because I was taking into account the reputation for your post to be slow...It would be great if you and Sloth got your packages just as quickly! Cheesy

Although, I should have thought of this, but I think Sloth's package might set off a metal detector... Cheesy
