21  Re: Make Me A Purse/Tote And Fill It! GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by alwaysinmyroom on: October 18, 2017 04:25:35 PM
We are so lucky to have had geekgirl as a partner!!!

I also got that fun bag and used it today to haul some medical records around...it was filled with some lovely goodies!

A water bottle holder and a pouch to hold my double pointed needles!  ha ha already filled and ready to carry to knit club!

A moleskin notebook and a mini junk journal! Some cool stamps for handmade projects, a mini tape measure, and key fob and some fabric!

Finally, the main prize...some lovely and useful reversible totes!  The insides are polka dots!  I love polka dots!  I just got finished watching Black Sails and was sad it was over...but this pirate bag will keep the memories alive!

Thank you so much!  I loved this swap so much!  My totes are filled and ready for winter knitting!

Here is the beautiful mug rug I received from JoyfulClover. She used two totally different techniques...one bee is paper pieced and the other is applique...the stitching on the applique is what gives the bee its form...I love this technique!

Detail of the stitching:

Beautiful fabric for the back as well as a shiny card!

I finished this last night.  Still have to block it.  Used Knit Picks gloss fingering weight wool. Still can't seem to find any suitable yarn for my friend who wants fall colors, so I will be shopping for yarn this weekend.

My living room is being painted so I have to leave that old cloth on all of the furniture...

I love fandom stuff!  Great fussy cutting, kbrison!

I received a unique and very personalized mug rug from my partner, cabaute!  It can be a fish or a cat....seriously...was that planned? Cheesy
Or is my imagination running away with me... Cheesy

Maybe she knew I was a Pisces and love fish, sea, etc.? Here is my "fish" mug rug along with a few extras and a lovely card!

The color blue matches my favorite mug EXACTLY (given to me by kittykill!)...even the back is nice...and I adore the puffy tail...I think there is a place to hide my tea selection!

Clever, clever and so much fun!

Thanks so much...it will be used tomorrow morning!

25  Re: Sweat Shoppe Ornament Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by alwaysinmyroom on: October 04, 2017 09:25:40 PM
I was thinking of doing some winter ornaments...maybe snowflakes of some sort.  Good idea, gala!

I did a mock of the knitted tree...each would be different since I am using up stash.

26  Re: 50 Projects More or Less...2017...Let's Create and Have Fun! in Craftalongs by alwaysinmyroom on: September 27, 2017 06:24:34 AM
Both of my Mug Rug Swap partners have received:

Both made from kimono/obi fabrics.  This one I did a reverse applique for the spot to set a cup.

I also did one using hexies.  Making those tiny hexies out of slippery silk fabrics was a challenge, but very fun!

Pinecones smeared with PB and seeds are always a hit for kids to make. Sort of messy, though...

Cabaute...I wanted to show you a picture of how I used the mug rug you sent me last round to lay out the hexies!

I changed it up a bit after I made the hexie flower...I am still using my rug rug at my crafting table!  Kiss

29  My Real Life Heroine in Knitting: Completed Projects by alwaysinmyroom on: September 23, 2017 05:13:16 PM
Kittykill and I have been friends for a long time.  We met only once in Boston at a mod meet-up, but that was all it took for us to develop our friendship!

She is my real life heroine...she loves dogs, she has a crazy, lovable hubby, she is kind to everyone, she kicks ass, she is beautiful, she is talented, she is creative...everything that a real life heroine should be!

When she posted a pic of this shawl. I told her I would make it for her. I finally got it blocked and ready to send.

Here is the link to the pattern.

It had to be blocked a couple of times to get the pattern to stick: But I finally got the perfect "W".

She knows she is receiving it, so there is no secret...kittykill is my own super heroine in real life!

I am using Crazy Zauberball yarn, which is normally a sock yarn, to make this scarf for a friend of mine who loves fall colors...I am using size F.
