41  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Classy Star Pillow on: October 09, 2007 09:29:58 AM

I just finished this lil' guy last night.  I couldn't tell you what brand the fabric is (it's from a sale bin @ JoAnn's).

I don't have much quliting/patchwork experience, but it was still a breeze.  I think I may make a few for Xmas gifts.

I found the tutorial @ http://theabsentknitter.wordpress.com/2007/09/01/make-a-pillow-star-part-1/

and blogged about mine @ http://www.knitxcore.com/2007/10/theabsentknitter-rox.html

42  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / EZ's Seamless Raglan. on: September 23, 2007 07:55:48 PM

So, it turns out I'm completely in love with Elizabeth Zimmermann.  I *luckily* got 7 Skeins of malabrigo from someone de-stash and turned it into my favorite sweater ever.

Usually, I have a really tough time adapting patterns to fit me right (they're usually wayyyy to big) but, I got this one right on the first try.  EZ does most of the math, all you really need to do is figure out the CO stitches.  Everything is easy as PI from there.

It was my first time doing a knitted hem, and really like how proff-y it looks.

you can read more about it on my blog @ Http://www.knitxcore.com
43  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby Surprise Jacket! on: September 23, 2007 07:48:24 PM

I lurve Elizabeth Zimmermann!  How else would I have turned a lumpy mess of knitted craziness into an amazing baby jacket?

The lil' baby brooch is a fabric covered button with a quilting yo-yo thing I found a tutorial for in CroqZine.

for the knitty gritty details, check out my blog @  http://www.knitxcore.com
44  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / KokkA Doorstop <3 on: May 26, 2007 12:52:56 PM
I know that I'm clearly addicted to making projects from Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing.

This lil' guy is my latest FO.  It's a housewarming gift for some pals.  I used a really cute Kokka fabric from Purlsoho.

I don't know where Lotta buys her beans, but 5lbs. wasn't nearly enough.  I used fiberfill to help fill out the shape.

CheCk Out the details on my blog: KnitXcorE: http://knitxcore.blogspot.com

45  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Tote on: May 16, 2007 07:15:01 PM
I made this for a swap, but I really wanted to show it off.  I'm pretty sure my pal doesn't have a Craftster account :-)

the lime on the bottom is actually dip dyed, it's pretty cool.  I cut the flower petals to resemble the pattern in the print and embroidered lil' french knots all over it.

i hope she likes it!!!!!!!!
46  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Lotta Jansdotter's Cafe Apron on: May 05, 2007 06:08:57 PM
I'm having trouble with craftster's picture hosting, but it did let me upload one.  You can check the whole thing out on my blog.

I'm completely obsessed with this book!!!  I'm not the best seam(ster)? but the patterns are sooooo easy, they make me feel like a sewing superstar.  I still have to add the pocket, the fabric I bought was wayyyy too thin but I didn't realize it until I got home.

I used fabric I got at JoAnn's.  Even though I think ours is a scary vortex o' nasty, I still found this cool print.  I've ordered some fancy fabric from PurlSoho to make another one.

i used sugar and cream cotton yarn.  i knitted two dishcloths, a long vertical stripe scarf, and i probably have enough to make 2 or 3 more dishcloths... all for about $6!!!
