1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Replacing buttons. on: December 01, 2008 01:03:25 PM
My aunt is about the same size as me, so naturally we have clothes swaps with each other all the time. She recently gave me a long sleeved cardigan-type halfshirt she bought from american eagle.
Its powder-blue, a pretty color. Only thing I dislike about it is the completely off putting swirl brown colored buttons on it. They also have the words 'american eagle outfitters' around them. I don't need even more reason to be a walking billboard for them.
I'm wanting to replace them, but I have no idea what kind/color/size to use.
I don't want it to be boring, exactly. But there isn't much you can do with just buttons.
If you have an ideas/comments I'd like to hear them.

the pictures are sort of bad, I used my webcam and my dress form xD

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / UMD hoodie [img fluffy] on: November 23, 2007 07:12:16 PM
Hey lovelies
I hope you all had a great thanksgiving and all.
Black friday was a bear today.
but I survived.

Wednesday, I was out of school, and decided that since I'm just starting this whole sewing thing, I might as well work on something for the day.
but I'm too lazy to walk to walmart (yuck) anyways, so I had to use something that I already had.

I found this really...grotti hoodie in the back of my closet.
Its an odd color of yellow, not very bright.
Its one of those ones from a college, the university of Duluth, Minnesota.

You know those hoodies that reletives get you, and everything on it doesn't fit at all?
The hood was really tight on me, the entire torso area was 34086208 times too big for me, and the sleeves were never-ending.
It made me depressed xD

But anyways,
I cut the entire neck off, to get that whole...dance feel to it.
I made the sleeves half length, and puffy =]
and, I also took in the sides times a ton.
Its still baggy in the stomach area, but that works because I'm a rather self conscious person, and I like things being comfortable.
so yeah,

the neckline...or lack there of.

zomg puffy sleeeves o.O

zomg myspace shot!? xD

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Simple winter scarf [image pudgy] TUT. ADDED! on: November 04, 2007 01:14:36 PM
Hello loves,
its very early, and I'm tired...
please excuse my ghostly look in my pictures, as I said, I'm overly tired.
But anyways.
I had some fabric, and time, so I decided to make a scarf =]

Bug eyes, but a shot of what the two fabrics look like.
If its not very apparent, its a purple plaid, and white.

the length of it.
its folded in half, and i had to strech my webcam very high up to see all of it xD
I'm 5'2 and it reaches right above me knees when draped over my shoulders.

the detail of it

on myself =]

more detail xD

if you want, I could post a tutorial.
even though its rather basic, and not hard.

made another one.
I took pictures for the tut. ,
but I have to compile them together.
until then, here's a picture of the new one.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Four years of comics and patience.... on: August 20, 2007 09:01:40 PM
...pays off!
Picture this.
Two fourteen year old girls sit in a room together for three days, watching television and eating takeout.
And we're bored, obviously.
So we decide to decorate my ugly no-paint walls.
Because, you can't paint your walls if you rent.

smaller picture, better quality.

Whatcha thinkkk?
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Pillow craftalong =) You know you want to... on: September 02, 2006 02:54:25 PM
Big ones, little ones
Small ones, tall ones.

Any pillow you please.

This can go on forever, so just post pictures of your pretty pillows as you go along Smiley
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / I call him, Edgar..the damnitt doll. (Image Overage) on: August 29, 2006 02:09:52 PM
So. It's 3 am.
Guess who's still awake?
Yeah, me.
So as I turn off my computer and go sit on my fouton (spelling error) I notice all these stuffed animals. Two look at me funny, there time has come.
So here I am, cutting two playtupus's apart.
And then, Edgar was born.
He is hard to see, because of his coloring.
But as you can see, his is very overstuffed.
Here is a head shot. Edgar has many issues, including Unibrow sydrom, Cyclops-ness-ness, Lazy eye, Cannibalism fear, obesity and mispropotioned head sydrom.
He enjoys candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach.
His first beating, by Lily.
Chilling with his homeslices, Zumbah and Afro-ken.

He is pretty much the ugliest thing I have ever created.
But my mom loved him.
My dad did the eye roll and the forced "It's cute"
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Would this work? on: August 05, 2006 05:45:21 PM
Hello helpfull and trusty friends!

So, I had a thought while eating my french fries this morning as I unpacked snowglobes.

Would it be a smart Idea to take a small either table or nightstand, made of wood and saw off almost all of its legs, leaving about 7-9 inches left on it. Then take a beloved boardgame (for me Life) and glue the board to the table, makeing a very easy and portable game board that you can play in bed or on the couch.

Please post your comments, questions or concerns.
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / A classic ACDC record? on: August 05, 2006 05:21:25 PM
So, we're moving and for some reason my parents needed to talk to my grandma&grandpa..so we go to there house. As soon as we get there I'm dismissed, as usal. So I take my little electric scooter I keep over at her house down the road for a ride when I spy a garage sale sign.
Determined, I go down there and start looking through a box of books.
I had no money Sad
So grandma gave me a five and shooed me out of the room.
Back down the road I go...
Right next to the box of books is a box of records and I start to look through them...she had them all..KISS, ACDC, Poisin...blah blah blah.
I knew that they had to be saved, she was going to throw them away at the end of the day. I only had enough for one, but I got a pretty nifty one.

So, moral of the story..look carefully at garage sales.

Alrighty, now...it's a normal size record..the lady said that the record had never been used, I could tell anyways because not a single scratch on either side of it. The box is in almost perfect condition too, just a bit flaky around the edges from age.
The record is "ACDC, dirty deeds done dirt cheap"

Thanks for any suggestions!!
