1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Anyone interested in consigning pieces for a Conference? on: June 13, 2006 08:20:35 AM

I am doing a large conference in Washington DC in October.
The conference will focus on Eco friendly products and services.
I make natural fiber craft kits and dabble in a few other nature based arts as well as tribal crafts.
If anyone is interested  I would love to have as much felt pieces as possible.

All materials must be Earth & human friendly. No toxic dyes or materials that don't come from sustainable resources.
about 25000 people will attend including celebrities & political speakers.

I do a 30-70 split for pieces that retail for $100.00 or more ( you get 70) anything below that price point has to be 50/50 because it is costly to attend this conference even when you are invited.
If you are in business I don't mind posting a artist bio next to your items.

If you are interested please send a pic of your work to lusshh@msn.com please put consignment in the subject line.
Also if you know anyone else that makes arts & craftsfrom Natural or recycled materials, pass my info along I am always interested in  possibilities.

2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Navajo-Churro wool on: May 31, 2006 09:36:06 AM

Recently acquired 3 pounds of rare breed navajo churro fiber. I know it is good for spinning and weaving rugs.
Want to use it in some felting projects and wondered if anyone has felted with this type of wool before?

Please post your experience, projects & or advice if you have used this fiber before.

3  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Needlefelt Dolls with Polymer Clay Face on: May 27, 2006 07:05:46 PM
Here are my latest experiments.
Really enjoyed making them although my husband is a little frightened of the Blue Doll named Zara!

Any advice on balancing polymer clay with wool?

4  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Zen Monk Doll on: April 26, 2006 07:36:36 AM

I made this Doll this week to give as a gift to my Good friend and Zen Teacher Zen Master Pohwa Sunim for our Celebration this weekend.
I'm thinking of making a series of them for a festival in the fall.
All the fibers came from the sheep off my In laws farm.
Many Smiles to all!

5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Liquid Laundry Detergent Bottles on: March 28, 2006 06:06:17 PM

I have lots of Liquid Laundry Detergent bottles, all sizes even a few of those extra large ones you get in Costco/Sam's Club.

Don't know why I haven't ever thrown them in the recycling.

Any clever ideas out there to create something functional and attractive?

I can't wait to read what clever ideas come back.

7  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Roving/Needlefelted Dolls on: March 20, 2006 06:20:10 PM

This is my first time posting and also my first time to ever make a doll. Just learning about felt and felting.

Hope my pictures come out O.K., These are my first 2 Dolls. I colored the wool and then needle felted and wrapped Roving to create them. I have 2 more I  made will post their pics if this post shows pics correctly.
Never thought I would be in to making Dolls but I have really been swept up in the magic of felting and these Dolls just came out with no planning or experience.
I have been very inspied by reading other post on this forum.

Thank You

Here's my Pics- Hope this works and I hope image is big enough.
