1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / my first stencil - roy lichtenstein on: July 02, 2006 09:58:55 PM
I decided to try my first stencil. I used my favorite Roy Lichtenstein painting "girl with hair ribbon" for the stencil and bleach to put it on the shirt. It was a fairly good first time project. I'm pleased...

It looks better than this photo, not uneven.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / finished baby blanket and booties on: May 28, 2006 08:59:16 PM
I made these from the book- blankets, hats and booties to knit and crochet. I absolutely love this blanket. It was very hard to give it away. The mother-to-be really loved it though, so that helped.

3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Roll your own needle case - modified on: May 02, 2006 06:22:33 PM
Here's my version of the case... This was a super easy day project and very easy to modify to your own needs.

I made it to match a knitting stand I made, recently posted here:
4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 11 ENTRIES / Smurf yourself a grin! on: May 01, 2006 03:35:13 PM
*Disclaimer* No smurfs were harmed in the making of this piece...

When I saw this embroidered mushroom all I could think about was smurfs dancing around it with tons of psychedelic colors. And I got it for 2 bucks not the marked price.

This is a scan so you can see the details. The finished piece is on an 8x10 canvas.

I decoupaged pages out of magazines down, then splatter painted on top. I then glued sequins on the shrooms and glued that and the smurfs down. Then I mod podged the foot to cardboard and put springs on the back to  raise it above everything else. Then I painted the lyrics to the smurf theme song down. This was so much fun to make, I hope you like it!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / folding knitting/craft stand revamp on: April 23, 2006 09:16:54 PM
My mom had this in our sell pile. I have started crafting more and realized that I needed this baby for my knitting in progress projects (that are piling up fast Grin). I like the old fabric, but it looks garish in my room.

I had already taken it apart...

I'm not the greatest at sewing, so this must have been fairly easy. I enjoyed spending a saturday afternoon on it.
6  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Finished Johnny Depp Poster Boy Bag on: April 16, 2006 07:48:15 PM
I finished this awhile back and realized that I hadn't posted it yet. I graphed him on Knitter's graph paper but he still has a slight alien head thing going on. Oh well, good enough for my first attempt at anything with more than one color of yarn and so complicated.

This is the pic I used...
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Need help altering dress! on: April 13, 2006 09:23:16 PM
So I bought this dress for easter and it came in the mail today. I absolutely love it and it pretty much fits everywhere, except for the chest. Now this wouldn't normally be a problem, I would take up the sides a bit and all would be well. But this dress has some gathers in the chest area that lay all weird like and make me have pointy boobs. Sorry for the TMI, but I seriously need some help here. Anyone have a clue what I could do to solve this? I wasn't aware of the gathers when I bought it. I really want to fix this by Sunday any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
Here is the link to the store it has a flash picture that you can zoom in on the spot in question.. http://www.torrid.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&M=616540167&SKU=516870-005-2610-0000

Here are some pics I took

The outside and inside are the same gathers and then sewed together with wrong sides facing. This is what I am worried about getting in the way of trying to fix it.

8  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / First Finished projects! Fit to be tied and 1 skein scarf on: April 09, 2006 12:10:18 PM
These are my first ever projects with crochet. Once I started I just had to keep making stuff. I've knitted for a couple of years and I was surprised how easy it was to get into crocheting. I'm becoming a happy hooker! Yay!
The red purse turned out a little wonky and my added new skein of "no dye lot" yarn was a different shade, so I tweaked the pattern a bit and made the pink one and sewed plastic canvas into the top of the lining for stability.
These turned out really fast so I made the two colors. They are perfect for great spring weather!
