1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Vases from Todd Oldham's book: Handmade Modern on: May 16, 2005 11:25:15 AM
There's been some chatter about Todd Oldham's book, handmade modern, on craftster.   The vases where in both the book and last month's readymade, so they're not an original, but they turned out well so I thought I would post them.

Wood-grain Contact Paper Vase

I also used a metallic contact paper on this one.  I think it goes well with the mid-century theme . . .

Veneer Spot Vase

Veneer is kind of expensive, so I kept the design sparse.  (The original from the book was covered in veneer "pebbles", but I think different patterns would be just as striking and use fewer materials.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Has anyone built a bar? on: January 07, 2005 11:31:06 AM
Has anyone built a bar?  Or, know where I can get good free plans?  I'm too lazy to make them myself, I'd rather just modify someone else's plans.
3  Georgia / Georgia: Central / New Crafting Group - Atlanta Southside on: October 26, 2004 08:06:57 AM

Craft-matic and Senlin would like to invite everyone to the first meeting of the new Southside Crafting Group on Thursday, Nov. 4th at Javalogy coffee shop (located on the corner of Edgewood and Boulevard), which is just south of VA Highlands and West of Little 5 Points/Inman Park.

Since no one has taken over the Atlanta Craft Group from Diva Steph, Craft-matic and I decided that we would take on the responsibility of organizing some crafty meetings, but we both agreed that we wouldn't have time to trek into North Atlanta (or the Caribou at Roswell Rd.).  For all of you Northside crafters out there - we're soooo sorry we couldn't make it more convenient for you!  Please, please come if you have the time and energy to make it down!

Information on what we will be making and directions should be up by tomorrow, but please message me if you have any other questions or suggestions.

I will be making a listserv from scratch (I never got the contact info from the last group of crafters), so please send me your information if you want to be added!!!!  Also, if youd like to be involved in organizing the group, that would be awesome.  I travel frequently and we could use all the help we can get!
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Good ideas (and pictures) of head boards? on: July 07, 2004 08:59:58 AM
Hi All,

I need to make a headboard and noticed there are no postings on this (that I can find).  Has anyone done one or seen one that they just love?

Specifically, I need one that will match a Cambodian theme (think Angor Wat . . . )
