41  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Somemore funky rustico yard art on: July 13, 2007 03:40:15 PM
Here is some of this year's yard art at Chez Funkrustico!  The fake gazing balls are made from big Christmas ornaments that I buy on sale at the after holiday sales and old chair parts.

The rusty art corner grows every year. This is the first plow that my dad used on the produce farm I grew up on in Ohio. He couldn't afford a regular tractor at first. The buoy is from my husband's grandparent's cottage at the shore in CT. The iron skillet was my Kentucky grandmother's. It cracked finally so I can't cook in it. I'll have suculents in it-it's taking a breather.

The bottom of this planter was found in an alley and the top is an old enamel pan that I painted. I used to use this as a bird bath, but since it has holes now I planted some succulents. Another recycled Christmas ball in the center. The rebar and spigot and wire creature is ...well, that's what it is!

And this is a sacred object collection.

She's loving all of the cakes !!

44  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / a lost head, some baking soda, some blocks= Clabby (IMG heavy) on: June 29, 2007 02:04:20 PM
There was a little doll head which seemed to follow me through several moves. She would show up in a box of sewing, under the bed,in the garden. I never knew what she wanted done with her. Until now. She has met a lovely empty Clabber girl baking powder container and become whole Smiley. Clabby  even has a wardrobe of hats. I really don't think of her as a doll/toy and I'm not sure if others would call her a sculpture, but she is certainly miscellaneous.

45  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / The lonely little chair finds kitty friends (IMG heavy) final touch ups added!! on: June 25, 2007 08:18:09 AM
So I was walking down my alley and saw that someone was throwing away a lot of still useable (by my standards) stuff. Here are the 2 sad little chairs I found, waiting for some love and attention

I wood puttied some bite marks on the one on the left...they must have had an aggressive owner!
Then I had an old book called The Color Kittens which was falling apart. I thought I would recon the chair for the son of my friend who is an artist and it seemed a good theme

The chair isn't actually crooked-it's the angle of the pic Tongue I'm going to give it several more coats of polyurethane.

So here are the final pics with some slight touch ups and action shots with my little pal Linc who I made it for.I filled in some white areas and polyurethaned and sanded it MANY times.BTW-Linc is wearing his onesie kilt I made him Cheesy

46  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Second recon by DD on: June 23, 2007 05:33:21 PM
So My DD made another baggy oversized t-shirt recon.

It has a halter neck-it's over a black tank top

original shirt
I see a lot of big tshirts being changed soon!
47  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Balkandina's ATC Gallery-warning new Clown card 8/28 on: June 23, 2007 02:29:47 PM
Thanks to WYOKrista's encouragement I'm finally going to start my own ATC thread. I do several different styles of larger art, so I guess these are mini versions of them Smiley. I'm still figuring out how to downsize the images-I'm really a bit of a Luddite about computers.

African Dreams
I was looking at a great painted recycled tin can cup I have from Zimbabwe and was inspired to do this one.

Cleveland Dreaming
I dream of tropical places often and began to wonder if people in the Tropics dream of me? (I don't live in Cleveland, but I did grow up in Ohio Cheesy )

I Walk the Line

Dig It
These 2 are from a series on diversity I just started.
Thanks for any input!!
