1  Upcycled simple spoon bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by balkandina on: November 11, 2011 01:30:56 PM
I had some old sterling iced tea spoons lying around for awhile so I decided to make them into bracelets. I added some beads from an old vintage necklace that had broken and a pewter bit from an old earring. I think it looks like a spoonful of creamy caviar  Wink

2  Re: Craft Challenge #25 - Represent Your Hometown - Due Mar 1 - Mar 5 2008 in Craftster Craft Challenges by balkandina on: February 03, 2008 11:46:26 PM
I am in the center of the USA, more  or less...home of Pikes Peak-where America the Beautiful was written...

I see it every day, so I need to rethink it in a way that will translate to the rest of the world!!!!

3  Kiss of Spring in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by balkandina on: January 20, 2008 06:45:27 PM
I wasn't going to post after I saw all of the really amazing entries this challenge-but what the heck Smiley
I am very tired of winter, so I looked through my vintage  sheet music and found this piece titled Kiss of Spring. I covered an old wine bottle ( which of course I had to empty Smiley ) with the music and cut out the cover which I attached to thin cardboard. I then attached the cover girls to the bottle and voila-a vase ready to hold the first flowers of spring.
It really needs several more coats of decoupage medium, but that will have to wait Tongue

So, I know most gardeners are itching to get into the garden-and some of you southerners are already started Sad But this is what the garden at Chez Funkrustico looks like around now Grin

back veggie garden and strawbale house

front cottage garden

rock garden

And the view from the front yard that makes all the long winter okay Wink

5  Re: Handmade Rubber Stamps Gallery in The Swap Gallery by balkandina on: January 15, 2008 12:27:15 PM

Isn't this stamp adorable??? It's cute, but has a touch of "offness" that I like!! And I have a pet rabbit named DeDe Ramone!
It's about 2 inches tall and cut so cleanly. Sarcastra, thank you so much, it's a very professional, but original stamp!!

Oops-here's the flip side. I miss being able to use photobucket-the new widget doesn't work for me and Craftster hosting always says I've uploaded, but never shows the pic Undecided

Sorry these images are so humongous-I'm having trouble with my photo stuff on the computer-(that tells you how good I am at this-"photo stuff"!!!! Roll Eyes )
These are the great birdy pages I got from LGD. Since I am an insane gardener sitting here in snow, this is a perfect pick me up for a Rocky Mountain January.

Here are my Phizzychick pages

It is layered beautifully and shows the life line on the palm. That's an old suspender button. All done in the rusty hues I use in my metal assemblages.

This is a wonderful page, layers of old paper, Spanish tickets, and a Welsh? fragment. I love that she changed the measuring tape to made in England Spain. Cute touch!! What a talented artist. My book is off to a great start with these 2 partners for sure!!

10  Cool tuna tin candle from WyoKrista in Completed Projects by balkandina on: November 26, 2007 01:05:41 PM
I wanted to post this candle that WyoKrista sent me because it is so cool and would be a great idea for a recycled holiday present.
She took a rusted tuna can and put glitter on it then attached a shell, a drawer knob, buttons and twine and filled it with candle wax. I love it!!

her trademark sunflower!!!
