1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I've got a big Michael's t-shirt and tiime.... on: August 23, 2007 05:11:22 PM

what other kinds o' dresses can i make?

Or for that matter, what other kind of clothing/craftiness in general can be sprouted from this wonderful commodity?

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Robot lovin' and polka dots! on: April 08, 2007 11:13:10 AM
The design for these robies is mine, handcrafted lovingly on Paint. Goshh that is the worst drawing program but my bro wouldn't let me use the Fireworks on his comp. Ah well.

I was meaning to do something with that zipper, it was extra from a multi-zipper pencil case. AAnd I would have made a dress out of the lining, but (my mom was right) it would be way too hot. So maybe PJ pants?

ANYHOO, here's what yall came in to see

Here's the front of it.

Close up of embroidery. (bad flash)

Another bad pic, shows the black and white polka-dot lining. its kind of silky.. probably polyester.

So there you have it. Comments? Questions? Concerns?

PS- I looove feedback.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Italian themed dinner/birthday party for my mom! on: February 07, 2007 03:48:53 PM
My dad and brother and I are getting a little soiree together for the moms for a landmark birthday of hers. He's taking care of food ideas but what about decorations?

I'm thinking of making a tablecloth or two with red, white, and green (to look like the Italian flag! waha!).. We need little notecards to say what the dishes are, invites, and other decorations at the party.

Any ideas? Of course it would incorporate red, white, and green, but I don't want it to be too cheesy.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Simplicity 5112? on: January 27, 2007 05:18:04 PM
I'd like to make dress B, not the bandeau style ones.. It looks pretty easy but how did yours turn out? Also, I'd like to use sort of a slinky (for lack of a better word) fabric, does it work well with this pattern?

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Coal (complete w/ photos) on: December 23, 2006 02:48:59 PM
We've still got a day, but so far I've whipped up a TON of baked goods, a pencil can for the moms, and some coal.

Yes, coal.

Black paint + rocks from the garden + an hour or so

= a super easy (and free) gift for those on the naughty list!

What about you lovely Craftsters?  Grin

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How do I decrease without those nasty holes? on: November 24, 2006 01:47:15 PM
Whenever I decrease in some sort of crocheting project, I get these holes where its bigger between the stitches than with just regular sc. I've tried just skipping a stitch and crocheting in the next, and I've done the stitch where you loop it through like normal and then do it to the next one.. kind of like a half double crochet, with 3 loops on the hook.

But anyway, it's pretty dang ugly. Is this because of my tension/gauge or is it jus how it's supposed to look?
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / The Ode of Kuscheln- *morbidly img obese* on: November 04, 2006 06:28:39 PM
Once upon a time, there was a lovely ball of Lion Brand Watercolors. She married a shiny gold crochet hook and they loved each other very much.

And when a mommy and daddy love each other very much..

The nice stork brings them a bouncing baby boy! They name him Kuscheln.

Kuscheln grew from a tiny tot to a young man.

Not so close!!

Kuscheln loves to eat. He likes ice cream...

But especially loves OJ!

Don't drink from the carton, Kuscheln!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Crazy Collage Wallet! with REAL LIVE tute and working pics! on: October 01, 2006 02:17:49 PM
I was one of the people who suggested a wallet challenge, so why not enter, eh? PS- I know there are a lot of brand names on this but I don't mean to advertise anything! Thanks for pointing it out!  Lips sealed

Wallet Title: Crazy Collage Wallet
(I don't need to put this but) Materials: Magazine clippings, paper, tape

I know it's blurry, but this is what the whole inside looks like.

My bulging money pocket.  Roll Eyes

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How bout Simplicity 4535? on: August 25, 2006 04:00:41 PM
Have any of you crafty ladies done this pattern? I'm making tote D for school. Yay!

If you've any alterations to the pattern/procedure, fabric choices, etc, I'd love to know.

I'm thinking of just adding a zipper via the tutes on this site, instead of adding the zipper pocket they reccommend. I don't dig how it's just free swinging.

Thanks a million!
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Best "specialty" hair products? on: August 07, 2006 02:37:36 PM
I mean like, curl enhancing spray, straightening balm, stuff that enhances/changes the texture and shape of your hair.

What works for you?

I've got Garnier Fructis Spray Gel (for curls) and John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Starlit Waves. Have y'all used those, what do they do for you?
