1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Animated Cross-Stitch Short on: July 23, 2010 05:47:50 AM
Very cute video by Holly Klein. It took almost two years for her to complete as every element was stitched by hand, scanned into a computer, and then animated. It is too cute! Enjoy!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / New Knitting Mags! on: September 20, 2008 04:06:05 PM
I just heard about 2 new knitting mags premiering right now Fon's & Porter's "Love of Knitting" and Debbie Bliss Knitting.  It's nice to be adding knitting mags than cancelling them:

1) Loveofknitting.com (still under construction)
Are You a Knitter?
We know that lots of avid quilters are also knitters. In fact, many Love of Quilting staff members knit as well as quilt. In just a few weeks, we'll share our love of knitting with knitters everywhere when we launch a beautiful, brand new magazine.
Look for Fons & Porter's Love of Knitting at your local yarn shop or on newsstands early this September. If you like the format of Love of Quilting, you'll enjoy Fons & Porter's Love of Knitting, too! We're including terrific projects for all skill levels, and garments for everyone in the familyfrom babies to adults. Since the holidays will be just around the corner, our first issue will feature lots of gift ideas. Love of Knitting will also include knitting lessons, tips, products, and book notes.
Be sure to pick up your copy of our premire issue and let us know what you think!

2) Debbie Bliss Knitting Mag:

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My first crocheted project/afghan on: August 08, 2007 08:16:36 AM
Hi, I taught myself to crochet using the "Happy Hooker" book and the "Art of Knitting & Crochet 2" DVD.  I love working with a hook!  It's so freeing from knitting with 2 needles. I've gone mad picking up all sorts of books (200 crochet blocks,The crocheter's companion, Knitting loves crochet etc.) and I've subscribed to Interweave Crochet, Crochet! and Crochet Today magazines.

This afghan is from a Lion Brand pattern called "The Afghan Squared", I loved making it with all these wonderful colors and what a great satisfying first project for me.

and here is my cat Liza enjoying it (I really made it for my DH and her to cuddle up together while watching the ballgame:
