1  Re: Ironing... in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by scubagirl on: February 12, 2011 03:07:56 PM
I have to say I've never enjoyed ironing. I've been doing it from a very early age (did all the family's laundry since 9 years old) and that might have something to do with it. I've just started to learn to sew and I saw this cute iron for sale at Jo-an's and I think I'm in love.

2  Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by scubagirl on: January 27, 2011 04:27:20 PM
This is my Singer Izek (150 anniversary edition) sewing machine:

It automatically sews 84 stitch patterns (and up to three combinations), five buttonhole styles, letters (block, script, or outline format), numbers, and symbols and allows you to create and save in the Game Boy memory--your own stitch patterns, letters, and designs. It works with a special sewing software cartridge that fits into the Gameboy.

4  My first crocheted project/afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by scubagirl on: August 08, 2007 08:16:36 AM
Hi, I taught myself to crochet using the "Happy Hooker" book and the "Art of Knitting & Crochet 2" DVD.  I love working with a hook!  It's so freeing from knitting with 2 needles. I've gone mad picking up all sorts of books (200 crochet blocks,The crocheter's companion, Knitting loves crochet etc.) and I've subscribed to Interweave Crochet, Crochet! and Crochet Today magazines.

This afghan is from a Lion Brand pattern called "The Afghan Squared", I loved making it with all these wonderful colors and what a great satisfying first project for me.

and here is my cat Liza enjoying it (I really made it for my DH and her to cuddle up together while watching the ballgame:

6  Much Desired "Festive Fish" afghan pattern in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by scubagirl on: April 20, 2007 03:27:09 PM
Hi, Just wanted to let everyone who is interested in the much sought after "Festive Fish Afghan" pattern from Knitter's Magazine #51, 1998 ($$$ on Ebay) that I was told by the Editorial Assistant of Knitter's Magazine (about a year ago) that it was being re-printed in "Babies & Toddlers: A Knitter's Dozen", well the book is finally out:

Please check the book out for yourself before purchasing because I have since gotten a copy of the original magazine for myself and have not been able to look at the actual book myself to verify it.

Hi, you can purchase it here on yarnmarket:

It's a wonderful magazine that they have now discontinued.
Hope this helps
