25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / How Do I Do My First Swap OR Become A Swap Angel? on: May 14, 2006 03:28:14 AM
Good Morning! Cheesy

I'd like to either join my first swap or become a swap angel, but not quite sure how to go about it.  The swap forums and threads are very confusing to me, and I'm confused as where to start, since it seems like all swaps are 'closed'.

How does one go about becoming an angel? Do I respond to the 'angel needed' posts?

Also, I read that there is a classified area, those asking for personal swaps?  Where is that found?

Looking forward to hearing!

If this is still a thought, I'm in New York state and will send candy, cookies, some food you can't get in Japan?

I also make small felt purses ... I'm an illustrator and artist ... or anything else you can think of.  Cheesy

I have a few questions for you guys who own the GOCCO:

If it's discontinued, how did one of you just buy it?

Can it print light ink on dark paper?  Is it more like screenprinting than ink printing?

What differences are there from an inkjet printer?

OK ... gonna show you what I mean:    Grin

This is one purse I made and used ribbon for the handle (strap).  I plan on using either cut felt or ribbon, or pearls for the straps, so no sewing is needed ... what I need help with is how to ATTACH the handles to the purse.

For this one I used 'brads', pushed them through from the outside, through the ribbon on the inside and opened it up to fasten.  That works out ok, but I'd like to learn another way, where I could just sew them into the purse along with everything else, to make it easier and less steps.

Hope that explains it better.  Smiley
