1341  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: cigars n' lust on: February 05, 2007 09:12:59 PM
Very nice.  I've always been fascinated by box purses.

I quite enjoy it.  I think I would be proud to hang that in my house.
1343  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Tilted Squares Baby Quilt on: January 28, 2007 09:07:16 PM
I'm fascinated by the tilt of the squares.  My current projects are all more or less straight squares, but I've always wanted to try an interesting angle.

It looks good, much better than my current laundry bag.  The straps will be handy, as wrestling a full laundry bag down and up three flights of stairs isn't anyone's idea of a fun time.
1345  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Mesh/Fabric Storage boxes on: May 24, 2006 01:29:41 PM
Hello all,
I've been procrastinating packing for a while now, and having no luck searching the boards, I decided to post.
Has anyone ever made one of those mesh sweater organizers that go in your closet?  Or those small fabric or mesh fabric boxes you can get at Walmart? I did find some on the Walmart site, but couldn't tell how I would go about making them other than wrapping the wire frame with fabric.  I want to not have to solder the metal, and would love it if they could fold.  I have some bronze mesh at home that I'd like to use and it's fairly stiff so I think it would work for either.
Any replies would be appreciated.  I won't have access to a computer until sometime tomorrow night, so please excuse any delayed replies on my part.

1346  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Farewell Present-Camp Councelling on: May 24, 2006 11:37:45 AM
As a camp councelor myself, I thought I'd chime in.  I don't know if you've already got enough ideas.. feel free to ignore mine.

If his camp is anything like mine, the counselors switch cabins every week, so whatever is sent should be small and easily packed.  Sunblock (I know it's already been mentioned) is a wonderful idea, hand sanitizer is good too.  Small candy is good too.  I always like getting letters.  I don't know if you can send bubbles through the mail, but those are good for keeping really little kids occupied.  Maybe some small book related to camp, I've gotten my friends at camp little inspirational books to help them through a hard week. Disposable cameras are nice. Pens and pencils are good.  Nuts, or trail mix, if he likes that.
My roommate always sends me a care package that includes all sorts of things representing our inside jokes and that always makes my day.

That's all I can come up with. I hope this helps.

That's a very good idea.  I'm actually in EAI and I think that would be something to help our MITs get to know our sisters better.  We have binders that we make for our new members, but yours is much cooler!
